The Kejriwal Government launched the Delhi’s Education Song “Irada Kar Liya Hai Humne” on Tuesday as a tribute to the vision of the state’s education revolution. The song was released by Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia at Thyagraj Stadium amidst the gathering of hundreds of students and teachers from Delhi Government Schools. Shri Sisodia said, “This song reflects the vision of our education revolution and is dedicated to the journey of the education system of Delhi in the past seven years. With this song, Delhi is the first state in the world to have an Song that clearly defines their aspirations and dedication towards the cause of education for all. Over the years, several education policies were made and a national curriculum framework was developed and this song summarises what all these policies for education have visualized.”

The Kejriwal Government released its education song at a grand ceremony organised at the Thyagraj Stadium. The song was officially unveiled by Deputy CM Shri Manish Sisodia who holds the education portfolio, in the presence of students and teachers of Delhi Government Schools. The Deputy CM dedicated the song to every student, parent and teacher of Delhi and recognised their role in bolstering the education system of the state. As the song was launched, the stadium reverberated with the cheer of the students. One could easily see how the students got emotional seeing the government celebrating their life in such a manner. The teachers too joined the cheer of students as they saw their work be portrayed with such honour and respect.

Shri Manish Sisodia said that this song is an answer to the critical questions regarding the purpose of education in development of nation or nation building. “Our purpose is to not only provide world-class infrastructure, improve results, learning outcomes but much beyond that. Our purpose is to prepare students to be good and socially responsible citizens who are dedicated to work for the development of the nation. This song reflects the vision of the Delhi government which aims to educate students about communal harmony, patriotism, and women empowerment along with other concepts and life skills. Our aim is to make students efficient enough to question the wrong and injustice in society,” he said.

In his tweet about the education song of Delhi, the Deputy Chief Minister said, “A person gives 20 important years of their life to education. But what do we want by giving 20 long years to education? What is our intention? What do the child, parents, society and nation want from education? Answering all these questions, our Delhi Education Song is being released today,” he tweeted.

Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal, who has been leading the transformation of Delhi’s education system, shared his delight on Twitter and said, “Let us talk about giving the best possible education to every child in the country. Let us talk about taking the country forward through education.”

Notably, the song lyrics have been written by Alok Srivastava and the song has been sung by famous singers, Shan and Sneha Shankar and music has been given by Dushyant.

Present at the launch were Delhi Education Secretary H.Rajesh Prasad, Former Education Director and CEO of Delhi Jal Board Udit Prakash Rai, Education Director Himanshu Gupta, Principal Education Advisor Shailendra Sharma, Nandini Maharaj (IAS), Additional Director of Education Rita Sharma along with other officials of education department.
