BJP’s misdeeds account to violation of IPC Sections 425 & 427; cutting marked trees without permission is a direct violation of the Delhi Preservation of Trees Act, 1994: Vishesh Ravi
New Delhi :
AAP MLA Shri Vishesh Ravi wrote to the Commissioner of Police (Delhi) today, requesting that he issue directives to file a case against North MCD Commissioner Sanjay Goel and Omaxe Ltd. for violating IPC Sections 425 and 427. On 11.02.2022, the North MCD had cut down 15 of 35 marked trees on the campus of MCD School at Bank Street, Ajmal Khan Road in a gross abuse of power and flagrant violation of the laws by the Municipal Corporation.
The MLA has been fighting for the rights of schoolchildren in Karol Bagh who will be denied an education if the North MCD’s activities go unchecked, and has written to the LG and the Commissioner of Police about it. The MLA stated that the school building had been completely demolished by deploying Bulldozers in full force to demolish the school as soon as possible to avoid any further protests against the BJP-run North MCD’s misdeeds.
He concluded that MCD Commissioner Sanjay Goel and the owner of Omaxe Ltd. are working hand in hand for monetary gains and have been backed by the BJP, which is constantly lowering the bar for obtaining illegal funds. The felling of 15 of the 35 marker trees is also a direct violation of the Delhi Preservation of Trees Act, 1994, which is severely punishable under law.
