Kejriwal government schools will now provide free preparatory coaching for NEET, JEE entrance exams to all its students, who are willing to make their career in the field of engineering, medical and other technical fields. The Kejriwal government is committed to give flight to the dreams of children studying in Delhi’s government schools, by providing world-class quality education to them. The Delhi government has initiated several ambitious projects to increase the access of government school children to technical and medical education. In this direction, the Directorate of Education, Government of NCT of Delhi has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ‘Avanti Fellows’, an expert organization in this field, to prepare students for the entrance examination for technical education courses like JEE, NEET, paramedical etc.

In the first year of the program, selected 6,000 children of class 11th-12th from all the Delhi government schools will be provided free coaching for the preparation of various entrance examinations, through test series, necessary academic support for these examinations and regular mentoring during preparation.

Earlier, this free coaching program was introduced in a few schools, on a pilot basis and results were excellent. More than 160 girls from ST/SC category are getting free coaching for NEET by experts, under this program.

Speaking about the new endeavor of Delhi Government to prepare students for the future, Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Shri Manish Sisodia said that many children dream of getting higher education from the best medical or engineering institutions to become doctors-engineers. But their parents are not able to afford expensive coachings. Now this picture is set to change in Delhi. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, now children studying in science stream in government schools of Delhi will be given free coaching by experts for entrance exams like NEET, JEE, paramedical and other technical courses.

Shri Sisodia added that with this step of government, thousands of future doctors-engineers, scientists, STEM experts etc. will now be prepared in the government schools of Delhi, who will make India proud globally. Delhi government is committed to promote equitable access to higher education opportunities in science and technology and this free coaching program will prove to be a milestone in this direction.

Currently, more than 30,000 students are enrolled in science stream across all Delhi government schools.The free test preparation program will help these students to get admission in top graduate programs and diploma courses in STEM based fields, engineering, MBBS/BDS, pharmacy, nursing, paramedical courses, and research programs. In the first year of the program, 6,000 children of class 11th-12th from all the Delhi government schools will be selected and provided free coaching for the preparation of various entrance examinations, through test series, necessary academic support for these examinations and regular mentoring during preparation.

Partner of Delhi government for this program- ‘Avanti Fellows’ has been working in this field for the last 11 years and is working closely with many state governments to promote STEM education.
