The Kejriwal Government paid a musical tribute to Bharat Ratna & Legendary Singer Late Lata Mangeshkar Ji through a mega concert “Meri Awaz Hi Meri Pehchan Hai”. The event was held at Central Park, Connaught Place. Thousands of people joined this music event offline and online and witnessed the beautiful evening. At the occasion Deputy CM Shri Manish Sisodia stated — The magic of late Lata Mangeshkar’s voice has transcended through generations. We all should be proud that we are from an era in which we could see her performing. She has left behind a legacy which will stay for centuries. Even when she is not among us, her songs will be present around us during moments of happiness, love, joy and sorrow. Several artists including noted singer Shilpa Rao paid tribute to the legend through her evergreen songs and actor Annu Kapoor shared the legend’s life story with the audience. Students of School of Specialized Excellence, Sargun and Joyshree paid tribute through their performances as well.
Shri Sisodia said that a great personality like Lata Didi was the pride of our country. She was the voice of the nation and through her voice she will be eternally present in our hearts. He also said that, once again the cultural programs have been started in Delhi, after a long break due to COVID and it began with paying tribute to Lata Didi.
The program began with a video on the life of the legendary singer. The video depicted how Lata Mangeshkar’s songs simultaneously instilled the feeling of patriotism as well as motivated people to live their lives to the fullest.
Famous artistes Shilpa Rao, Annu Kapoor and among others paid a musical tribute to the legendary singer. This musical evening was also proof that life is gradually getting back on track after a long break due to COVID. The musical evening was organized by the Kejriwal Government’s Art, Culture and Languages Department, Delhi Tourism Department and Sahitya Kala Parishad.
