NEW DELHI

Delhi government in its continuous efforts to provide the best healthcare facilities to the people of Delhi, Health Minister Shri Satyendar Jain inaugurated a new polyclinic in Delhi. This is the 4th polyclinic being made functional under Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital. The patients will get referred to polyclinics for various specialized OPD services through GTB hospital. Along with the Health Minister, the Speaker of Delhi Vidhan Sabha, Shri Ram Niwas Goel was present at the occasion. Itt was decided that a similar polyclinic will be built in the Seemapuri area.

On this occasion, Health Minister Shri Satyendar Jain said, “Polyclinic is a part of Delhi government’s 3-tier healthcare model in which the services are provided in 3 stages i.e Primary level, Secondary level and tertiary level. Delhi government’s 3-tier system is enhancing the public health care system and has emerged as the best system to handle a large population. This polyclinic is a multi-speciality clinic providing services in various disciplines viz Internal Medicine, Obs & Gynae, Paediatrics (on daily basis), and Skin, ENT, Eye, Orthopedic, Surgery (on a bi-weekly basis). The polyclinic will be functional from 8.00 AM to 2.00 PM. These polyclinics will also have a facility for minor operative procedures, dressing, and plaster. Other services such as Radiological services like Ultrasound and X-ray will also be available. The facility of ECG shall also be given. The sample collection for pathological tests will be carried out in collaboration with the nearest Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinic. This is a great example of an integrated 3-tier healthcare model of Delhi where the primary healthcare is provided on the Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinic level, if required, the patient gets treated in a polyclinic and if admission is required then only the patient gets referred to the hospital. This results in the overall distribution of the patient load on each level.”

Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Shri Ram Niwas Goel added, “This polyclinic is an extension of GTB Hospital. Many doctors appointed from GTB Hospital will be available here daily and a few specialists will render their services on selected days”.

This polyclinic is also an extension for Mohalla Clinics. If a person needs treatment for any major health issue, they will be referred to this polyclinic & can avail it under GTB Hospital. Ultrasound, MRI in polyclinic facilities like X-rays will also be available. Apart from this, the facilities of Madison Mother-Child Gynecologist Physicians have started today.

The Kejriwal government is planning to construct Polyclinics in every area along with Mohalla Clinics in Delhi. Delhi Government is working day and night to provide quality healthcare services to its residents near their homes.

Delhi has improved its health care system to world-class quality. The demand for this polyclinic was being made for many years, and now the Delhi government is working towards making more and more polyclinics in the national capital. Delhi Government has a target to build 150 such polyclinics.
