Kejriwal Government is appointing Ankur Sharma as a ‘Junior Assistant’ in the Education Department

The Kejriwal Government provided a government job to Ankur Sharma, brother of the victim of Delhi Riots and ex-IB staffer Late Ankit Sharma. Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal personally handed over the appointment letter to Ankur Sharma in presence of Deputy CM Shri Manish Sisodia. With this, the CM fulfilled his promise of providing a government job to the kin of the victim. Shri Arvind Kejriwal said that we can’t make up for the loss of life but hope that this government job and a financial aid of Rs 1 crore provide strength and support to the family. At the same time, the Deputy CM informed that Ankur Sharma, the brother of Delhi Riots victim and ex-IB staffer Ankit Sharma is being appointed to the education department of the Delhi Government. The Kejriwal Government is appointing Ankur Sharma as a ‘Junior Assistant’ in the Department of Education, GNCTD.

Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal handed over the appointment letter to Ankur Sharma, the brother of ex-IB staffer Ankit Sharma, who had passed away during the Delhi Riots. On Thursday, the Chief Minister met with the family of Late Ankit Sharma to offer the role of a ‘Junior Assistant’ in the Education Department of Delhi to his brother Ankur Sharma. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia, who holds the education portfolio, was also present during the meeting. He encouraged Ankur to take up the offer and join the department as soon as he could and wished him luck on the occasion.

The CM and Dy CM talked to Ankur at length and asked about his health and wellbeing. The CM also asked him to take care of his family and further assured him of all possible help to the family in case of any need. Ankur was accompanied by his mother and sister during the meeting. Seeing the Delhi Government act on their promise of looking after the family and giving a government job to Ankur made his mother emotional as she thanked the CM for his gesture. Earlier, the Delhi Government had provided the family a financial assistance of Rs 1 crore to bring strength and stability into their lives.

Shri Arvind Kejriwal took to Twitter to announce the same and said, “We can never compensate for the loss of a loved one’s life but I hope this government job and an assistance of Rs 1 crore brings the family strength. We will continue to stand by them and support them whenever needed.”

The Chief Minister’s Office also shared a glimpse of the meeting on Twitter and wrote, “Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal today handed over a job certificate to Ankur Sharma, the brother of ex-IB staffer Ankit Sharma, who had passed away during the Delhi Riots. He has been appointed in Delhi’s education department. Last year, the CM had also handed over a cheque of Rs 1 crore to the family.”

At the same time, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia tweeted, “Ankur Sharma, the brother of Delhi Riots victim and ex-IB staffer Ankit Sharma was given a job certificate by CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal. Ankur Sharma is being appointed to the education department of the Delhi Government.”

After receiving the certificate from the CM, Ankur Sharma said, “My brother Ankit Sharma died during the Delhi Riots. Since then, the Delhi Government has supported me and my family at every step. The CM provided us with financial assistance. Today, I have been offered a government job in the Delhi Government by the CM. I will always remain indebted to Shri Arvind Kejriwal, Shri Manish Sisodia and everyone at the Delhi Government for looking after our family.”

In March 2021, the Kejriwal Cabinet had approved the proposal of giving a government job to Ankur Sharma

Along with giving financial assistance of one crore rupees to the family of Late Ankit Sharma, who lost his life in the Delhi riots, the Kejriwal government had also promised a government job to a member of his family. A cabinet meeting was convened at the Delhi Secretariat in March 2021 under the leadership of CM Arvind Kejriwal, in which Ankur Sharma, brother of late Ankit Sharma, was proposed to be given a job in the Delhi Government as per his merit. This proposal was unanimously approved by the cabinet after which this proposal was sent to LG. After getting approval from LG, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal today handed over the appointment letter to Ankur Sharma.

Kejriwal government had provided a financial aid of one crore rupees to the victim’s family

Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal expressed deep grief over the death of the ex-IB staffer and assured all possible help to his family. Last year, the CM met his family and provided an assistance of one crore rupees to them. The CM had also promised to provide a family member a job in the Delhi Government, which has been fulfilled today.
