New pipelines would be installed in place of damaged pipelines in Nabikarim Kachcha Rasta in Ballimaran assembly constituency

Imran Hussain directs the DJB officials to expedite the drainage maintenance work on a regular and priority basis to avoid waterlogging

NEW DELHI:

With the aim to provide basic amenities to Delhi citizens and to ensure freshwater supply during the festivals of Navratri, Ramzan and Eid-ul-Fitr, Food and Civil Supplies Minister and MLA of Ballimaran, Shri Imran Hussain along with CEO of Delhi Jal Board Shri Udit Prakash Rai, inspected the water management at Nabikarim Kachcha Rasta, Ballimaran today. During the inspection, senior officials of the Delhi Jal Board along with eminent personalities of the area accompanied the Minister.

During the visit, the F&S Minister said that several grievances of water shortage and low water pressure were being received in the camp office during the public hearing with regard to Nabikarim of Ballimaran assembly. Taking cognizance of the matter, Shri Imran Hussain asked CEO, Delhi Jal Board to accompany him during the visit to ascertain the ground situation in the early morning. During this, the F&S Minister and DJB CEO patiently listened to the grievances of the residents and necessary instructions were also issued to address the problems on the spot.

The CEO of Delhi Jal Board assured the F&S Minister that all grievances related to the water supply of the area would be resolved as soon as possible, and new pipelines would be installed in place of damaged pipelines wherever required to ensure proper equitable water supply to all the residents. The Minister asked the Delhi Jal Board CEO to also monitor the ground situation on a daily basis.

During the visit, Shri Imran Hussain observed the water pipeline maintenance work in the Nabikarim area and directed the DJB officials to repair/replace the damaged water pipeline to ensure an uninterrupted supply of freshwater in the area expeditiously in view of the ongoing festive season of Navratri, Ramzan and Eid-ul-Fitr. Shri Imran Hussain also noticed the spreading of sewer water on the road at certain places and directed the DJB officials to expedite the drainage maintenance work on a regular and priority basis to avoid waterlogging and ensure the disposal of filth in the area especially to ensure cleanliness in the area.

F&S Minister Shri Imran Hussain further said “The Arvind Kejriwal Government is committed to provide necessary and basic facilities such as drinking water, an uninterrupted power supply, ensuring cleanliness and street lights especially during the festive seasons. I appeal to all citizens to follow COVID-19 protocols and adopt Covid-appropriate behaviour during the festive time to sustain our fight against the virus.”
