Imran Hussain issues directions to DJB officers to strictly adhere to the prescribed timeline
F&S Minister directs DJB officers to increase the capacity of pump sets to 180 hp to provide immediate relief to the affected residents

Food and Civil Supplies Minister and MLA of Ballimaran Shri Imran Hussain held a review meeting today regarding progress of work in his constituency. This meeting was called to review the progress of action in pursuance of the decisions which were taken during the field inspection with Delhi Jal Board CEO at Kutcha Rasta in Nabi Karim (Ballimaran Assembly constituency) on 5th April 2022.
During the field visit on 5th April, the F&S Minister had visited areas of the constituency in Kutcha Rasta in Nabi Karim to acquaint himself with the deficiency being faced by the residents in receiving water supply regularly. Shri Imran Hussain also expressed his concern about various infrastructural issues and bottlenecks which are obstructing a smooth water supply to the residents.
During that visit with the CEO of Delhi Jal Board, many important decisions were taken to enhance the water supply to the affected areas. The Minister also set the deadlines for expeditious completion of various works of Delhi Jal Board.
The F&S Minister today reviewed the work completion progress and again directed Delhi Jal Board officers to strictly adhere to the prescribed timelines. He further emphasised that no laxity on the part of officials/officers of Delhi Jal Board will be tolerated as water is the basic necessity of the residents, especially in view of the ongoing festive season and ensuing summer season.
With the aim to provide basic amenities to the citizens and to ensure freshwater supply, the F&S Minister directed the Delhi Jal Board officers to increase the capacity of the pump sets to 180 hp to provide immediate relief to the affected residents. He also directed to replace the remaining pump sets installed at Eidgah BPS in a time bound manner till May 2022. He further stressed on the need to explore the feasibility of installing booster pumps in the area for equitable distribution of water.
Food and Civil Supply Minister Shri Imran Hussain also reviewed the upgradation work of the Underground Reservoir (UGR) at Pahari Dhiraj in Quresh Nagar ward and asked the concerned officials to expedite the upgradation work. On renovation of this UGR, around 30 Thousand people living in Ramnagar and Quresh Nagar Ward will be benefited from equitable water distribution with increased water pressure during the ensuing summer season.
The Food and Civil Supplies Minister also informed that regular review meetings in this regard and the daily progress will be monitored by the Minister for timely completion of various works.
