NEW DELHI/ KARNATAKA:
AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal today addressed a thunderous rally in Bengaluru’s National College Ground. Thousands of farmers across the state enthusiastically poured in to see the AAP Convenor and reaffirmed their belief in him. On the occasion, Shri Arvind Kejriwal stated — If you want riots and violence vote for them; if you want schools and hospitals, vote for AAP. The whole country knows who is propagating riots all over India; can the country progress like this? People want to live in peace and harmony. We know how to build schools, hospitals, roads, supply electricity and water & deliver staunchly honest governments. A man crushed farmers with his car in UP’s Lakhimpur and this party and its government came out in full strength to protect him. Goons attacked my house; instead of punishing them, these people honoured the goons. Everyone knows there’s only one party that inducts goons and lecherous people to promote violence. AAP is a party of well meaning, honest Deshbhakts; we don’t know how to practice gundaism. I am an Aam Aadmi, I know what it takes for an Aam Aadmi to run their household during such inflation. We are giving free education, healthcare, electricity, water and bus transport for women because of our commitment to honesty. 45% of this country’s population depends on agriculture; if all these people come together they can bring the biggest governments down to their knees. We first made our honest government in Delhi, then in Punjab and now will do so in Karnataka. Farmers across India should back the AAP; we will not rest till farmers don’t flourish.
Encouraging roaring chants of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Inquilab Zindabad, AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal greeted the overwhelming crowd. He said. “Two days ago, I underwent a tooth surgery, and I was in a great deal of pain. But I assured Shri Prithvi Reddy that thousands of farmers will gather along with their esteemed leader Shri Chandrashekhar. So no amount of pain can hold me back from today’s Jansabha, no matter how many painkillers and injections it takes. I am here out of my respect for the farming community, because the Aam Aadmi Party holds our farmers in the highest regard.”
He continued, “Firstly, I would like to wholeheartedly welcome Chandrashekhar Ji to the Aam Aadmi Party. Today, thousands of farmers have gathered here today from even the most remote corners of Karnataka, and I extend a warm welcome to you all into our AAP family. I would also like to congratulate you – I will elaborate why. It is said that no person should let their ego get in the way. Ravana was an example of the perils of human ego; he abducted Sita despite people’s objections, his own brother Vibhishan’s efforts to make him understand that he should not pick a battle with Lord Shri Ram; his wife Mandodhari convinced him to return Sita safely to her husband. But Ravana’s undefeatable ego put him under a spell, which made him believe he could conquer the entire world, and refused to listen to anyone’s reasoning. It is a tale as old as time and we all know the fate Ravana was met with in the end. Similarly, the BJP-led Central Government was driven by ego and power, believing they could do as they pleased without a care about the people. They passed the three black farm laws, for their egoistic delusion told them they do not need their farmers. The Centre was deeply urged by all sections of society to roll back these laws, to not go up against the country’s farmers, the very people who feed us, for once they come out on the streets and rise up against you, your entire government will falter. But yet again, the Centre refused to acknowledge any of these warnings. Eventually, after a 13 month long agitation led by the farmers, the BJP-led Centre was compelled to take its black laws back. I salute your strength and your struggle, it is more than inspiring. Your sheer determination and dedication brought about something the entire country failed to accomplish. You defeated the Centre’s poisonous ego.”
The AAP Convenor went on, “Why did farmers feel the need to step into the political arena now? Even 75 years after independence, Indian farmers are exploited, in deep distress, many even dying by suicide in various corners of the country. Small scale farmers especially spend their entire lives in such deeply impoverished conditions. No farmer’s child wants to inherit their parents’ occupation, they all wish to do something completely different in life and to not become a farmer at any cost. This is the dismal plight of farmers the successive governments have subjected them to. 45% of the Indian population depends on farmers, and if such an enormous number of people come together, they can defeat any government in the world.”
He said, “We, at the Aam Aadmi Party, were also born out of a revolution. We would spend endless days sitting in the Ramlila Maidan with Anna Hazaare. Our sole aim and demand was to end corruption. Those in power challenged us to step into politics ourselves, to contest elections, and to drive away corruption by ourselves. We held our hands, saying we are insignificant common people, not powerful politicians who run for elections. But they continued to spite us, to challenge us to change the system by taking it in our own hands. I repeatedly warned these political figures to not provoke the common public, as they are more powerful than anyone can imagine – the day a common person, a farmer steps up, the mightiest throne will tremble. They provoked us, which led to the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party, then the formation of AAP’s government in Delhi, followed by Punjab, and now, we will form our government in Karnataka.”
The AAP Convenor said, “the previous government here was a 20 percent government. The present government is a 40 percent government. But there is zero percent government in Delhi. There is a very honest government in Delhi. I do not take a single penny as bribe, I have gotten a certificate from our country’s Prime Minister, Modi ji that Kejriwal is the most honest man. How, you ask? The Prime Minister got the CBI raided on me. CBI came to my office. There was a CBI raid at my house. There was a Delhi Police raid, an income tax raid. They also searched my bedroom but found nothing. After his defeat, the Prime Minister had to give this certificate that Arvind Kejriwal is the most staunchly honest Chief Minister in the country. He raided Manish Sisodia’s house. Got all my ministers raided too. Got my 20 MLAs raided. They got nothing out of it. We have the most honest government. We first formed an honest government in Delhi, then in Punjab and now we will form an honest government in Karnataka as well. All these accounts of this 20% and 40% will have to be closed.”
He continued, “Come to Delhi and see how fantastic our government schools are. See how we’ve outdone private schools with our infrastructure. See our swimming pools, turfs, auditoriums and labs, you’ll be left surprised. But the true magic of our work is that almost 4 lac students have shifted from private schools to government schools in Delhi this year. This could not happen in even the last seventy five years in any other state of the country. If you want it to happen in Karnataka, elect the AAP. No one else can help you. The condition of hospitals wasn’t too good in the state either before we came to power. Today, we’ve built such spectacular hospitals that instead of going to Max, Apollo or Fortis, people come to government hospitals for treatment. The whole treatment is completely free, be it a crocin or a cancer treatment, all of it is completely free. Two crore people of Delhi enjoy free healthcare. We supply free electricity in the state too. People get zero bills. There used to be continuous and repeated power cuts in Delhi, but we fixed the system and now there are no power cuts at all. All of this is possible because of our honesty and faith in progressive governance. It is because of our commitment to honesty that we are able to give five essential services like education, healthcare, water, electricity and bus transport for women.”
He added, “Some incidents across the country have brought me deep anguish and pain. In UP’s Lakhimpur, one of their men ran over farmers and crushed them alive. This man should’ve been accorded the strictest of possible punishment but instead the whole party, the whole system came out to protect him. They in fact rewarded him for the murder by making his father a minister. Is this how this country will progress? That’s not just it. The situation of law and order is so terrible that I as the CM of the national capital was attacked by their goons. Their goons broke into my house and vandalised my house when no one but my elderly parents were at home. I don’t care for my life, I’d sacrifice everything I have for the country if need be. But what did they achieve out of attacking a house with two senior citizens? They were felicitated and honoured by them and inducted into their party. How will the country progress like this? Throughout the country, all goons, rapists, vandals, hooligans, thugs and miscreants are welcomed in only one party. A child was raped by their goons, instead of punishing them, the party took out a rally in their support. How can we trust them to run this country? AAP does not believe in all this. We are a party of well-meaning, decent and honest deshbhakts. We don’t know how to conduct riots, we know how to build schools. Only one party knows how to commit crime, how to murder and divide the society. If you want riots, vote for them. If you want schools, vote for AAP. I am certain that this country does not believe in rioting and I further call upon farmers across India to come out and back the AAP. I assure you, I won’t settle till the time the farmers of the country are not at peace.”
