Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia held a review meeting with expert consultants and officials of the Public Works Department on the streetscaping of 16 roads, going on in the pilot phase across Delhi. He did a digital walk-through of the designs for beautification and also gave suggestions to make these roads better. He also reviewed the beautification design for a road in South Delhi with the officials of DTTDC.
Shri Manish Sisodia said, “At present streetscaping of 16 roads is going on in Delhi. I reviewed the work of streetscaping personally with the consultants and gave suggestions for improvement. Their ideas to change the face of Delhi’s roads and make them world-class are amazing. With the completion of this project European style roads in Delhi will be a reality soon. This effort of the Kejriwal Government will also decongest city roads and enhance mobility along with making them beautiful.”
He added, “The Kejriwal Government is determined to provide a safe and beautiful commuting experience to residents of Delhi. Along with those driving on these roads, government is also concentrating on making various facilities available for pedestrians too. Providing world-class civic infrastructure in Delhi calls for continuous efforts to innovate and overcome challenges. We are working round the clock with experts to redevelop our roads – with emphasis on utility, greenery, safety and aesthetics, to make Delhi a Dream City for all. ”
Notably, under this ambitious project of the Kejriwal Government, 16 roads of Delhi are being beautified by the PWD in the pilot phase according to their needs and after their completion the road stretch of 540 kms will also be beautified on the same lines. It is to be known that there are about 1300 km of roads under the Delhi government in the capital, while other roads are under MCD and DDA.
