Revenue Minister Shri Kailash Gahlot on Wednesday met the relatives of nursing officer Late ChinniChing and Safai Karamchari Late Seema, who lost their lives to the Covid-19 infection, and handed them a cheque of Rs 1 crore on behalf of the Delhi Government. Shri Kailash Gahlot later informed the media that Late ChinniChing was working as a nursing officer, while Late Seema worked as a Safai Karamchari at the Lok Nayak Jaiprakash Hospital in the city. Both the ‘Covid Warriors’ put their lives at risk and served the citizens of Delhi during the Covid-19 pandemic, Shri Kailash Gahlot added. He said that even though the ex-gratia amount could not compensate the loss caused to the families, but I hope that with this financial assistance from the Delhi Government, the family members will get some help in building their lives ahead. He said that many ‘Covid Warriors’ lost their lives while serving humanity and society during the pandemic, and the Delhi Government heartily salutes their hard work and their zeal to fight the pandemic. Shri Kailash Gahlot assures all possible help to the families of the deceased

Shri Kailash Gahlot today reached Burari and Daryaganj to meet the family of Corona warrior Late ChinniChing and Late Seema, respectively. The Revenue Minister spent time with the two families and assured them of all possible help in future from the Delhi Government. He further added that nursing officer ChinniChing succumbed to the infection on May 7, 2021, while Safai Karamchari Seema passed away due to the infection on June 8, 2020. He also said that the lives of the two persons cannot be compensated by the amount provided to the family by the Delhi Government, but he hoped that the amount will assist the families in their future endeavours. Shri Kailash Gahlot also added that the compensation amount was a promise by the Delhi Government that they would always stand in solidarity with the ‘Covid Warriors’.

Kejriwal government is always ready to assist its ‘Covid Warriors’

The Revenue Minister said that in order to serve the public amid the Covid-19 epidemic, doctors, nurses and other staff of hospitals provided their services round the clock to the patients, often staying away from their own families and other close relatives. While performing their duties, some nursing staff and doctors were infected by the infection and laid their lives for the nation. He pray to God that the soul of these noble people rest in peace. I assure the families of these Covid Warriors that the Delhi Government will do whatever it can to support them. We are extremely grateful to our Covid Warriors and salute them for laying their lives for the wellbeing of Delhi’s citizens.

Minister speaks about the sacrifice of Late ChinniChing and Late Seema

ChinniChing was a resident of Burari and worked as a nursing officer at the Lok Nayak Jaiprakash Hospital in the city, while, Seema, who was a resident of Daryaganj, worked as a Safai Karamchari at the same hospital. Both of them dutifully attended to the patients of the hospital at the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic. They also went out of their way to take care of those patients residing in a containment zone or under home quarantine during the pandemic. It was while performing their duties that they tested positive for Covid-19. They were admitted at the Lok Nayak Jaiprakash Hospital when their infection escalated rapidly, and unfortunately both the members succumbed due to their conditions.
