NEW DELHI:

Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal met the heroes of the Mundka Fire Incident today. He thanked them saying such heroes prove how Delhiites stand together as a family during all highs and lows. Shri Arvind Kejriwal appreciated the bravery and solidarity of those who saved the lives of those trapped inside the building by risking their lives. Locals complained to the CM saying that the BJP ruled MCD is threatening them of bulldozing & sealing their homes. The CM said, “We all have to stay united and always help each other and work together. We stand with the people of Delhi, we will not allow bulldozers and sealing under our watch. I have also told my MLAs that even if you have to go to jail, don’t be afraid, but you have to stand with the people.”

It is noteworthy that a few days ago a devastating fire broke out in a multi-storey building in outer Delhi’s Mundka area. Several people lost their lives in this painful accident, while many people were injured and are being treated in the hospital. The locals came forward to save the lives of the people trapped in the building and saved the lives of people unknown to them by risking their own lives. CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal was very impressed by the bravery and solidarity of these people and had called and met them at the Delhi Secretariat today.

Around 20-25 people had come to meet Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal in this context. The CM asked each person about their condition and got to know in detail about the work done by them during the accident. Everyone narrated the stories of how they helped rescue the people trapped in the building and saved their lives without caring for their own lives during the accident. Someone called an ambulance, someone called the fire department, someone called the electricity department. They told him about how they broke the glass to bring people down through the windows and brought them down with the help of ropes.

Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal became emotional after hearing the tales of the accident from the people who came to meet him. He lauded everyone for their bravery and solidarity and boosted their morale. Thanking them from his heart, the CM said, “Such heroes prove how Delhiites stand together as a family during all highs and lows. We all have to be united and always help each other and work together.”

The people who came to meet him also talked about the sealing and bulldozer action. They informed CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal that the BJP-ruled MCD is repeatedly threatening to seal and run bulldozers over their homes and show. They appealed to the Delhi Government for help in stopping the sealing and bulldozers. On hearing this, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal assured everyone that the Delhi Government stands with the people of Delhi. “We will not allow bulldozer action and sealing under our watch. It is not fundamentally correct to destroy people’s houses and shops by running bulldozers over them like this. I had a meeting with my MLAs and told them that even if you have to go to jail, don’t be afraid, but you have to stand with the people.”

This is how the heroes saved lives at Mundka

In the Mundka accident, many people showed their wisdom and bravery and saved the lives of dozens of people trapped in the building. When the building was on fire, a person named Dayanand Tiwari was driving a crane. As soon as he saw that the building was on fire, he thought of helping the people. There was a lot of crowd, due to which the entire road was jammed. He called Vijay, the owner of the crane and asked him if he could help people with the crane? On this, Vijay said that save people’s lives even if the machine breaks apart. Dayanand Tiwari asked some youths to help and broke the pavement with the crane. There was a high tension wire ahead so he drove with caution, and broke the glass with the crane and started taking people down.

38-year-old Bablu runs a junk shop there. He took out mattresses from his shop and laid them there, so that people who jumped down from above do not get hurt. 45-year-old transporter Surendra brought down several people with the help of a rope. Farmer Vijay Mann, along with the villagers, started bringing down the people with the help of rope even before the fire brigade arrived and also took the injured to the hospital. Similarly, 37-year-old Sanjeev, who works in MCD, brought down people with the help of ropes and stairs. During this time mattresses and ropes were falling short, so social worker Vikas and Pradeep, who runs a groceries shop, arranged for them by asking the people around. Anil, 35, also helped by arranging mattresses and ropes. Deepak Yadav, a construction worker, brought ropes and mattresses from his nearby village. In this way, someone called an ambulance, someone put their crane to work and helped the people trapped in the building.
