Kejriwal Government’s e-buses have received a bumper response from Delhiites. About one lac commuters have hopped on the switch towards zero-emission e-buses in just three days. Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal had flagged off 150 e-buses on May 24. The CM had travelled in the buses himself along with Transport Minister Shri Kailash Gahlot to take stock of the new fleet. The Kejriwal Government had announced free travel for everyone in the e-buses from May 24 to 26 to promote clean mobility. MLAs along with the top-brass of the Delhi took rides in the e-buses over the last three days to witness & review the facilities as well. Kejriwal Government’s #IrideEbus campaign has been receiving huge participation. Social media is flooded with selfies of commuters. So far, positive feedback for the buses has come from all walks of life. Commuters call the standard of the buses at par with Delhi Metro.

On May 25, the next day after the flag off, Transport Minister Shri Kailash Gahlot travelled in an electric bus, during which he talked to the passengers traveling in the bus about this new initiative. At that time, citizens said that these zero-emission buses feel very good and that travelling in an electric bus feels like travelling in the Delhi Metro. The commuters also said that it was a very comfortable ride during the Summer heat.

Transport Minister Kailash Shri Gahlot said, “I travelled in e-buses and am very happy to see the passengers accept the initiative so will. Talking about the facilities of the bus to the traveling Delhiites, people called the electric buses to have the comfort of the metro itself. About one lakh people have travelled in electric buses for free on three days on 24, 25 and 26 May. Out of which 40 per cent are women. In which about 12 thousand people travelled on the first day on 24 May. On May 25, about 28 thousand people travelled. Along with this, on May 26, about 52 thousand people travelled for free.”

Electric buses are equipped with many state-of-the-art safety related facilities

The biggest feature of electric buses is that they are pollution free. There is no pollution due to the running of these buses. Along with zero emission, these buses are zero noise. In addition, they are equipped with GPS devices, ramps for the differently-abled, panic buttons, CCTV cameras and other security related facilities.

Selfie competition will run till June 30, three winners will get iPads

CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal had also kicked off a selfie competition to spread the word about the e-buses by taking a selfie in the new electric bus fleet. This competition will run till 30th June. The selfie contest named #IrideEbus is being run on social media, where passengers will post a selfie while travelling in an electric bus. The three most liked and shared contestants will be selected for felicitation by the Delhi Government and will get an iPad as a reward.

150 electric buses are running on these scheduled routes from today

51 buses will run on these routes from Mundelakalan depot-

1- Route number 821 will go from Jaganpur Kalan to Tilak Nagar via Mithora, Najafgarh, Nawada and Uttam Nagar. About 20 km long, 3 electric buses will run on this route.
2- On Route No. 835 from Dhansa Border to Tilak Nagar, it will go via Mundhela X-ing, Rawta X-ing, Mitraon, Najafgarh, Nawada, Uttam Nagar. About 30.7 km long, 7 electric buses will run on this route.
3- Route No. 764 will go from Najafgarh Terminal to Nehru Place (T) via Dwarka X-ing, Dwarka Sector-3, 2, 1, Palam Flyover, Palam Airport, Vasant Gaon, Munirka, IIT Gate. 12 buses will run on the route of about 34.4 km long.
4- Route No. 978 will go from Najafgarh Terminal to Azad Pur Terminal via Dichaon Kalan Depot, Baprola, Ranhola, Nangloi, Peera Garhi, Punjabi Bagh, Ashok Vihar Ex-Ing. 9 buses will run on the route of about 26 km.

5- 539A from Najafgarh Terminal to Lado Sarai Phirni Road via Dinpur, Chhawla, Bijwasan, Kapashera, Mahipalpur, Vasant Kunj, Chhatarpur X-ing. 5 buses will run on the route of about 33.9 km long.
6- Route number 923 from Najafgarh Terminal to Old Delhi Railway Station will go via Dichaon Kalan Depot, Baprola, Ranhola, Nangloi, Peera Garhi, Punjabi Bagh, Zakhira, Sarai Rohilla, Model Basti, Tis Hazari Court, ISBT Kashmiri Gate. 5 buses will run on this route, about 30.4 km long.
7- On route number 826, Chaudhary Brahma Prakash Ayurvedic Hospital will go from Khera Dabur to Tilak Nagar via Mitraon, Najafgarh, Nawada, Uttam Nagar. About 25.7 km long, 3 buses will run on this route.
8- Route number 817G from Najafgarh Terminal to Mori Gate Terminal will go up to Nawada, Uttam Nagar, Tilak Nagar, Moti Nagar, Zakhira, Inderlok, Sarai Rohilla, Model Basti, Tis Hazari Court, ISBT Kashmere Gate. About 31.8 km long, 7 buses will run on this route.

99 buses will run on these routes from Rohini Sector-37 depot –

1-Route number 901 will go from Mangolpuri Y-Block to Kamla Market to Madhuban Chowk, Wazirpur Depot, Azadpur, GTB Nagar, Old Delhi Secretariat, ISBT Kashmere Gate, Red Fort, Delhi Gate, Ramlila Ground. About 24.5 km long, 15 buses will run on this route.
2- Rohini Sector-25 (Deep Vihar) to Shivaji Stadium on Route No. 990A, Rithala Metro Station, Rohini Sector-1 and Rohini Sector 7-8, Madhuban Chowk, CD Block Pitampura, Wazirpur Depot, Punjabi Bagh, Karampura, Patel Nagar , will pass through Karol Bagh and Gole Market. About 25 km long, 3 buses will run on this route.
3- Rohini Sector-16, Rohini Sector-15 G-Block, Sector-9, Sector-7/8, Madhuban Chowk, Peera Garhi, Vikaspur, Outer Ring Road, from Shahbad Dairy to Janak Puri D-Block on Route No. 879 Janakpuri will pass through District Centre, Uttam Nagar, B1 Janakpur and Sagarpur. About 28.4 km long, 15 buses will run on this route.
4- Rohini Sector-23 (Packet-C) to Shivaji Stadium on Route No. 990mgz to Rithala Metro Station, Rohini Sector-1, Rohini Sector 7-8, Madhuban Chowk, Pitam Pura, Wazirpur Depot, Punjabi Bagh, Karampura, Patel Nagar And will go through Karol Bagh. 10 buses will run on this route, about 25 km long.
5- Rohini Sector-22 Terminal on Route No. 957 to Shivaji Stadium Y Block via Mangolpuri, Avantika, Rohini Sector-7 Crossing, Mahindra Park, Britannia, Punjabi Bagh, Zakhira Flyover, Sarai Rohilla, Devnagar, Karol Bagh and Gol Market Will go 13 buses will run on this route, about 25.6 km long.
6- Rohini Sector-18 Ex-Ing, Badli Railway Station, Samaypur, GTK By Pass, Buri X-Ing, Wazirabad X-Ing, Bhajanpura, Yamuna Vihar, Nand Nagri Depot on Route No. 165 from Shahbad Dairy to Anand Vihar ISBT , will go via Dilshad Garden and Anand Vihar. About 35.2 km long, 18 buses will run on this route.
7- Route number 182A will go from Kanjhawala village to Kashmere Gate via ISBT, Karala, Begumpur, Mangolpur, Madhuban Chowk, Wazirpur, B-3 Keshavpuram, Ghantaghar and Tis Hazari. 5 buses will run on this route, about 27 km long.
8- Rohini Sector-1 Avantika to Anand Vihar ISBT on Route No. 971 Rohini Sector-4,5 Ex-Ing, Rohini Sector-7,8 Ex-Ing, Madhuban Chowk, Wazirpur, Ashok Vihar, Azadpur, GTB Nagar, Balkaram The hospital will go via Wazirabad, Bhajanpura, Yamuna Vihar, Nandnagri Depot, Seemapuri and Anand Vihar. Around 34 km long, 20 buses will run on this route.
