Rishabh Pant has taken 97 wickets in 25 matches. When he goes to play the first Test match of the series against South Africa from Sunday, he will have a chance to get a hundred of hunting behind the wicket. If Pant achieves this position in South Africa, he will leave Dhoni behind. Pant will become the fastest Indian wicketkeeper to hit 100 behind the wicket. Dhoni had crossed the century of catches in 36 test matches.

Wriddhiman Saha is at number two after Dhoni, who completed 100 wickets in 37 Test matches. Former wicketkeepers Kiran More, Nayan Mongia and Syed Kirmani achieved the feat in 39, 41 and 42 matches respectively. Pant was rested for the two-match Test series against New Zealand. India won this series 1-0. Wriddhiman Saha did the wicketkeeping for India in this series.

Indian team will play test series against South Africa from 26 December. The first match of the series will be played from December 26 at Centurion. The second match will take place at Wanders from January 3. At the same time, from January 11, the third match of the series will be held at Newlands Cape Town.
