NEW DELHI:

AAP’s North MCD Leader of the Opposition Vikas Goel discussed the revised budget estimates for the year 2021-22 and 2022-23 in the budget meeting of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation House today. In his budget speech, he opened the box of blatant lies uttered by Bharatiya Janata Party leaders over the last 15 years. The Leader of the Opposition expressed his thoughts on practically every issue and on the development and operation of each department. He accused the BJP of turning Delhi into a garbage dump and of corruption in the contract for garbage disposal at the Bhalswa landfill site, which was given at a rate of Rs 306 per metre. Many demands were made in relation to MCD employees, as well.

AAP’s LoP Vikas Goel commented on the meeting’s debate, saying, “We expressed our opinions on the revised budgets for the years 2021-22 and 2022-23. In the discussion, I explained how, for the past 15 years, the BJP has been making false promises to the people of Delhi. Delhi has been ravaged by the BJP. The BJP is paying Rs 306 per metre at the Bhalswa landfill site to process trash. As a result, they are spending more money than necessary while receiving less employment. This is not only a waste of money, but it also serves as a constant impediment to Delhi’s progress.”

He added, “I have made several demands to the BJP-run MCD on the subject of MCD employees. Regularisation of Safai Karamcharis is required, as well as timely payment. The Aam Aadmi Party also demands that the BJP settle all outstanding debts as soon as possible. Employees’ dependents who died while on duty during the Corona period should be provided one job each, as well as financial help. Employees of the DBC should likewise be regularised. I oppose the one-day break in their service in exchange for a service extension for the years 2022-23. I questioned the poor condition of MCD hospitals, to which the BJP had no answer. On one hand, the hospitals of Delhi Government are being praised all over the world. Former US President’s wife Millenia Trump also praised the schools in Delhi. For this, I heartily congratulate the Chief Minister of Delhi.”

He added, “Announce that the MCD, which is governed by the BJP, will eliminate the property tax on residential homes up to 50 square metres. The BJP should waive tax debts owed by taxpayers for over three years under the unit area scheme. My recommendation to the BJP leaders is that the property tax department should use a factor of 0.5 for calculating the tax on residential parking so that individuals may help solve the parking situation in Delhi.”

He added, “The North Corporation’s BJP leader is refusing to charge the South Corporation rent of Rs 2478 crore, which is completely unacceptable. According to the Finance Commission, the Central Government is responsible for providing financial assistance to all of the country’s companies, but it is not providing 1200 crore rupees to the corporations of Delhi. This obviously demonstrates the BJP government’s corruption. The corporation, on the other hand, blames the Aam Aadmi Party, although the public is aware of the corporation’s true face.”

He concluded, “I hope that the Aam Aadmi Party will be able to win all three corporations in the municipal elections in 2022. If there is an Aam Aadmi Party government in the MCD, not only will corruption be removed, but employees will also receive their salaries on schedule. By being in the MCD, Arvind Kejriwal’s government will be able to complete development activities in Delhi twice as quickly.”
