NEW DELHI:

To provide quality education to all the students at Delhi government schools, the Kejriwal government is in the process of transforming them into smart schools. To begin with, smartboards will be installed in more than 20,000 classrooms built by the Kejriwal government in Delhi’s government schools. This process of making classrooms smart has started from Shaheed Amir Chand Sarvodaya Vidyalaya located at Shankaracharya Marg, where 16 classrooms have been transformed into smart classrooms by installing hi-tech smartboards. On Tuesday, Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Shri Manish Sisodia visited the school to review the transformation process and understand the working of smart boards.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that all these smart boards are equipped with state-of-the-art technology that will not only make the teaching-learning process a joyful one, but also help children learn better. With the integration of technology, children will have access to all online learning resources. Along with this, modern cameras for recording will also be installed in classrooms so that live recording of the class can be done. These recorded videos can be further accessed by students and teachers for educational purposes, whenever required. He added that in the last few years more than 20,000 new classrooms have been constructed in government schools of Delhi. We will convert all these classrooms into smart classrooms in a phased manner along with those under construction. Special training will be given to all the teachers to make better use of the smart boards for improving the quality of education at schools.

Shri Sisodia said that in the last 5-6 years, the infrastructure of Delhi’s schools has become world-class. Five years ago, where there were no benches and proper blackboards in classrooms, today the Delhi government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal is making those schools smart and equipping them with smart technologies. It was a dream of Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar that each child should get quality education. While fulfilling his dream, our aim is to provide quality education to each student in Delhi government schools and we are determined to do that.
