AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal today pumped fuel into the party’s campaign in Uttar Pradesh for the coming phases of the elections. He held two unprecedented Jansabhas in Lucknow and Barabanki welcomed by magnanimous crowds. He stated — These politicians are asking for votes by calling me a terrorist because they haven’t done anything in 70 years to boast about. AAP National Convenor and Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal is on a crucial UP visit prior to the last phases of the elections. He addressed two massive Jansabhas in Lucknow and Barabanki today as a part of the party’s campaigns. AAP Rajya Sabha MP and UP In-charge Shri Sanjay Singh was also present at the rallies along with senior party leadership and candidates for the coming polls.
Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “Recently, we inaugurated over 12,000 impressive new classrooms in Delhi – facilitated with electronic boards, elevators in school buildings, laboratories, multi purpose halls. All these facilities are being provided in Delhi’s government schools. 12,000 classrooms were added, and 20,000 plus classrooms have been built in the past 7 years by the Delhi Government. Even if one sums up classrooms built by the central as well as state governments, they do not come close to Delhi’s performance. These 20,000 classrooms translate into some 400 new government schools which we have built in the past 7 years. How many schools has Yogi Adityanath built in his term of 5 years across the entire state of Uttar Pradesh? Not a single school has been made. Has he established any colleges or universities in UP? None. All he has made is fools out of the people of Uttar Pradesh, while we have made 3 new universities in Delhi. Has he built any hospitals? We established 500 plus Mohalla Clinics over the past 5 years, numerous new government hospitals. But if you look at UP, not even a dispensary has been built in any village. How many jobs were created by the Yogi Government? Zero. On the other hand in Delhi, we provided jobs to 10 lac young people.”
Talking about the dirty politics being played in the country he said, “The Uttar Pradesh Government has a budget of 5 lac crores. Despite this gigantic budget, the Yogi Government did not build a single school, university, hospital, or dispensary. Where did the 5 lac crores go? Every year this money is being squandered by the BJP’s state government in UP. Over the past few days, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Modi, and Amit Shah have collectively accused me of being a terrorist. All four of them are resounding the same slogan – that Kejriwal is a terrorist. Do I look like a terrorist to you?”
He went ahead to talk about the filthy remarks of terrorism made against him and added, “The BJP has ruled over UP as well as the country for the last 5 years, with Modi at the centre and Yogi in the state. The Congress and the BJP have ruled over our country for the past 70 years, despite which they cannot point out a single contribution of theirs for India’s development. Had these parties had any contributions to list out, they would not have been hurling baseless allegations against me. They would have something to offer as a list of progress work done by them. But in the past 5 to 7 years, the Modi Government as well as the Yogi Government have not done anything that can account for progress. Neither has the Congress delivered on any election promises in over 70 years. Now, in order to garner votes, they are accusing Kejriwal of terrorism. What have I done? Does a terrorist build schools, hospitals or care about quality education for every child? Does a terrorist help the elderly go on pilgrimage, or provide martyrs’ families with one crore rupees? Despite all this work I have done, they are calling me a terrorist. I ask, what act of terrorism have I committed? On the other hand, in the past 5 to 7 years, Modi Ji had a CBI raid conducted at my residence and my office, and found nothing. He got an Income Tax raid done at my house and office, and yet again found nothing. He did not leave a single agency, from ED to RAW to Delhi Police – all were ordered to raid my home and work, and nothing was found.”
CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal went ahead to discuss the disregard the PM has shown for internal security and said, “He said there’s some poet who lives in Ghaziabad who’s sayingthat Kejriwal’s a terrorist. The poet dreamt that seven years ago I told him that I will divide the country into two and rule on one part of it. I think the PM should shut down the ED, R&AW, IB, everything else and keep that poet to protect Mother India. Imagine that the PM believes a random poet about something even his intelligence agencies could not find. The PM has made an absolute joke out of national integrity. How can someone go about calling anyone and everyone a terrorist. Some days back, these people called our farmers terrorists. This is why I appeal to the public to go out and vote in such heavy numbers that this establishment understand who is a terrorist and who isn’t. When the PM says all those who have cycles are terrorists, he isn’t attacking any party. He is attacking the poor of this country who depend on cycles for a living. All those who own cycles in UP should go out and vote at such unprecedented scales that these bigots get to know whether those with cycles are terrorists or those in BJP are.”
Shri Kejriwal dissected into the allegations and continued, “There are two kinds of terrorists. First who threaten the public, endanger the lives of the commoners. The second who terrorise the sleeps of the corrupt and bigoted. I terrorise the sleep of all these corrput and bigoted politicians, and if I become a terrorist for it, so be it. I am a devotee of Bhagat Singh. He had terrorised the sleep of the British and this is why the British called him a terrorist. Just like that, these corrupt leaders have come together to abuse and call me a terrorist.”
Talking about AAP’s model of governance the Delhi CM said, “Whoever here knows people from Delhi, must call them and ask them to give feedback for our work. If you don’t get positive feedback, don’t vote for us here. I am certain every person there loves us, they gave us 67 seats on our first call, 62 in the second. There’s no relevance of BJP & Congress in Delhi anymore. We plan to do the same in Uttar Pradesh as well. Let me also assure you that no one but the AAP can supply free power. The rest of these people are blatantly fooling you. Providing 24×7 free electricity is no less than a miracle. But we are doing it in Delhi. Only we can do it, no one else. We revolutionised schools and hospitals in Delhi. We’ll do the same in UP if we’re given a chance. We’ll provide employment to everyone, if at all someone doesn’t get a job we’ll give an unemployment allowance. We’ll give Rs 1000 to every woman every month.”
He concluded, “People are asking whether our guarantees are of any substance unless we get to form a majority. All the surveys show that UP will get a hung assembly. And I assure everyone that if we need to join the government to keep the BJP out of power, I will ensure all our guarantees are implemented. Many people from Uttar Pradesh reside in Delhi. In Delhi, 3.75 lakh children had their names cut from big private schools and switched to government schools. Government schools have truly become spectacular, I believe, for the first time in 70 years of independence. Previously, the condition of government schools in Delhi was similar to that of Uttar Pradesh. Over the course of six years, we worked tirelessly to repair every school from its curriculum to its campus. The school buildings are all brand new. In Delhi’s government schools, all children are treated equally, be it a child of an officer, a judge, a labourer, or a rickshaw driver all study at the same desk. This was Babasaheb Ambedkar’s dream. Babasaheb Ambedkar envisioned a day in India when the children of the poor and oppressed would receive the best education possible. I am saddened that in 75 years, governments of all parties have come and gone, but no one has fulfilled Babasaheb’s dream. Nobody provided a good education to the poor. I swear to realise that dream. We will provide a good education to the poor and oppressed in UP too. You are welcome to visit any of our government schools in Delhi and see our model yourself.”
