For the first time the Delhi government has started the process of making disability certificate of about 100 Divyangjans affected by Thalassemia: Rajendra Pal Gautam

Till now this facility was only limited to RML and AIIMS hospitals.

Social Welfare Minister Shri Rajendra Pal Gautam today attended Divyangjan Help Camp organized by North East District Office of Social Welfare Department at Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital, Dilshad Garden. The officials of Delhi Government, Central Government and many other social organizations also participated in this occasion.
In this Divyangjan camp, divyang citizes are provided with various types of services like, disability certificate, UDID card, Digital handicap certificate, D-T-C pass, Railway department pass, Loan etc on the same day itself. Around 1000 people were assisted in UDID registration in this camp. Along with this, citizens were also made aware about the welfare schemes run by the Kejriwal government in Delhi.
The concept under Disability Assistance Camp is that all facilities should be provided to the specially abled people under one roof so that their problems can be resolved quickly and they have don’t have to travel to different offices for their tasks.
Through this camp, for the first time, the Kejriwal government of Delhi started the process of making disability certificate of about 100 Divyangjans affected by Thalassemia. Till now, this facility was available in RML and AIIMS. Now Delhiites will also get this facility in GTB Hospital of the Delhi Government.
Marking the occasion, social welfare minister said that the Kejriwal government is committed to all possible help till the last person standing in line. He also told that soon Delhi government will introduce new schemes for Divyangjan to enhance the quality of their life & making public services more accessible and quick.
“At the same time, Kejriwal government is also in the process to establish a therapeutic rehabilitation center in every district for the specially abled people, for which the department has already been directed,” he added.
