The Kejriwal Government has decided to extend its musical drama on Babasaheb Ambedkar till 24th March after seeing the public’s tremendous response for the show. The Delhi Government has put on offer a glimpse into the life of Babasaheb with its musical extravaganza. The show has received an overwhelming response from the public ever since it was inaugurated by CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal on February 25th. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia announced the extension of the show for another 10 days in view of the demand for the show. He stated — “‘Babasaheb: The Musical’ will go on for 10 more days on public demand. It is heartening to see the response of the people for our show from all over India. I am glad that the Kejriwal Government is acting as a carrier of Babasaheb’s ideology among the masses.

Shri Manish Sisodia stated, “‘Babasaheb: The Musical’ will go on for 10 more days on public demand. It is heartening to see the response of the people for our show from all over India. The Kejriwal Government has decided to extend its larger than life musical theatrical for another ten days. The move came after the public showed an unprecedented response for the show with all scheduled performances being housefull. The decision comes as a reason for joy throughout Delhi and especially among the Dalit community who have shared their love for the show.

Babasaheb: The musical went beyond conventional storytelling and touches every aspect of his life. Issues like reservation, the importance of questioning, caste discrimination, untouchability, Babasaheb’s equations with his father, his professors, the polity of India were represented in a never seen before manner. The show closed to an overwhelming response and roars of Jai Bhim along with a seamless standing ovation.

The musical extravaganza seeks to provide the viewers an international theater experience with a larger-than-life production

The Grand Musical on Babasaheb is being performed in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi from 25th February. It was originally planned to go on till the 12th of March. But has now been extended to the 24th of March. The show has a stellar cast with Rohit Bose Roy as the lead actor, Tisca Chopra & Teekam Joshi as narrators. Mahua Chauhan has directed the play, with music by Indian Ocean. The musical extravaganza seeks to provide the viewers an international theater experience with a larger-than-life production showcasing a 100-foot stage, with a 40foot-wide revolving stage. To imbibe the values and message of Babasaheb, this show will also be shown to every Principal, students and teachers of Delhi Government schools on subsequent days. Everyday, there will be 2 show timings – one at 4 PM and another at 7 PM. The show is completely free to the general public. However, there are only a limited number of seats available in the stadium. As a result, those interested in watching each show must reserve their seats in advance.
