NEW DELHI/TELANGANA:
The Aam Aadmi Party raised the issue of reinstatement of field assistants of Telangana with the Central Government while the opposition parties of BJP & Congress continued to sleep over it. AAP MLA and Telangana Incharge Shri Somnath Bharti informed that – an AAP delegation met with Union Secretary of Rural Development and presented him all proofs including the High Court’s order of reinstatement. Because of agitations held by AAP Telangana in support of Field Assistants, KCR announced their reinstatement in the assembly today. AAP will stand shoulder to shoulder with all the victims of KCR Government’s agony and agitate for their rights. This is a huge victory for field assistants and their families, AAP will keep a close eye on KCR to deliver on this promise. We will extensively take up the issue of Vidya Volunteers, Village Revenue Assistants and Panchayat Secretaries in our Padyatra starting April 14.
MLA Shri Somnath Bharti said, “7,651 field assistants were fired by the Telangana Government back in March 2020. Their salaries weren’t paid since December and they’ve been agitating for basic dignity. 69 people have committed suicide since then because of the agony they are facing. KCR Sahab will face the curse of all these victims because he failed to pay heed to their pain. He in fact, is in contempt of the High Court which has ordered the reinstatement of their services. AAP came to the rescue of these victims and promised to have them reinstated m”
He added, “An AAP delegation had met with the Union Secretary of Rural Development because it is them who provide the funds for the same. We have submitted all the proofs and a letter seeking reinstatement of the field assistants. Funnily enough, right after we brought the matter to the public’s attention, Congress too woke up from its sleep.”
He concluded, “AAP had promised the field assistants and their families full support from the party. They were told to be assured that CM Arvind Kejriwal is there for them. We organised meetings with thousands of these field assistants and Vidya Volunteers and understood their concern. Just like this, we will also raise the voice of Village Revenue Assistants and Panchayat Secretaries and all other sections of the society in distress. When AAP raised the issue of Abhay Hastam, the minister was forced to come out and accept his shortcomings. He agreed to release their dues too. Congress and BJP sleep in the opposition chairs of Telangana, only the AAP raises issues that matter.”
The AAP Telangana In-charge added, “Because of agitations held by AAP Telangana in support of Field Assistants, KCR announced their reinstatement in the assembly today. This is a huge victory for field assistants and their families, AAP will keep a close eye on KCR to deliver on this promise. At the same time we place two major demands in front of KCR — first, to provide a compensation of Rs 1 crore per person to all those families who lost their loved ones during this agitation; second, all field assistants be paid full salaries right from December 2019 till date so as to compensate for the agony this tyranny has caused them.”
