Under the leadership of National Convenor and Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party has grown into a countrywide leader in governance-innovation. Undeterred by its ideas being suppressed by the BJP-led Central Government in Delhi, the party has gone on to implement its visionary schemes in Punjab to set new benchmarks of work-oriented politics. The AAP National Convenor today announced that the party’s government in Punjab will implement the ‘Ghar-Ghar Ration Yojna’ in Punjab and deliver ration to the doorsteps of the needy. Shri Kejriwal stated — The BJP-led Central Government stopped us from implementing ‘Ghar-Ghar Ration Yojna’ in Delhi but they can’t stop us in Punjab; we will deliver ration to the doorstep of every poor family. The idea is here, and its time is now. Now no one will be able to stop it. No one can stop the public of this country from treading on the path of progress now. I want to tell all those with vested interests — do whatever you want, this country and its people won’t stop, they’re fearless.
Expressing his elation over changes taking place in Punjab since AAP rose to power in the state, Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “Today’s day has brought immense joy for me. I am very happy for the people of Punjab, for the people of India. Punjab CM Sardar Bhagwant Mann made a spectacular announcement for the welfare of the poor. I am certain that this announcement will have a huge ripple effect on the whole country. CM Mann has announced that ration will be delivered to the doorstep of the underprivileged in the state. Is it fair that a helpless, underprivileged person has to stand in long lines under the scorching sun just to get a packet of ration? They are forced to struggle, take an off from work just so they can put food in their homes. And to think that this is happening in an era where you pick up your phone and a pizza gets delivered to your home or can get groceries delivered in 10 minutes is downright unjustified. Why do our governments make the poor suffer to get ration?”
Elaborating on the scheme, he continued, “Under the ‘Ghar-Ghar Ration Yojna’ the Punjab government will properly pack all your ration and deliver it to your doorstep with complete dignity. The underprivileged section of the society will greatly benefit from the scheme. I am sure it will be implemented very soon now that it has been formally announced.”
Speaking about the situation of the scheme in Delhi, the CM further stated, “We’ve been trying very hard for the last four years to get this done in Delhi. We’ve put in all our might, we made all preparations to implement the program but the Centre resisted as hard as it could and barred us from implementing it. This is not fair to the public. But there’s a saying, ‘you can not stop an idea, whose time has come’. The idea is here, and its time is now. Now no one will be able to stop it. They didn’t let us implement it in Delhi, but they can’t stop us in Punjab. The whole country will watch. Every Indian will see how people get ration delivered to their doorstep in Punjab. The whole country will demand for the scheme to be implemented everywhere. This is what happened with the Mohalla Clinics too. We started building Mohalla Clinics in Delhi, and the whole country followed our footsteps. Whatever innovation we’re doing in Delhi is being followed countrywide.”
Demonstrating confidence in the AAP Government’s path to progress in Punjab, CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal concluded, “Over the last few years, the whole country has witnessed how roadblocks are purposefully placed in the work we’re trying to do. Implementation of Mohalla Clinics were stopped for two whole years. We resisted, we fought and we implemented it. Our project of putting up CCTVs was stopped for 3 years. We try to build schools and hospitals and they stop those files too. For the last 75 years, people’s ambition and hope for a better tomorrow has been systematically blocked. The public means well, they want progress, development, growth and prosperity. The public is very talented and intelligent, but they’re stopped from progressing. This has been going on for 75 years. But the public has decided that it won’t budge down from its cause. In two states, the public has elected a government committed to honesty. This country and its people have chosen the path of progress and development and no one will be able to stop them now. I want to make it very clear to all those with vested interests, do whatever you can, this country and its people won’t stop now.”
