F&S Minister Imran Hussain directs the officials of the DJB for the maintenance of proper drainage and an uninterrupted supply of freshwater during the festive season

F&S Minister Imran Hussain conveys greetings to all Delhiites on the eve of Navratri, Ramzan and Eid-ul-Fitr festivals

New Delhi:

Food and Civil Supplies Minister of Delhi Shri Imran Hussain chaired a meeting with officials of Delhi Municipal Corporation(MCD), Delhi Jal Board (DJB), BSES and concerned agencies regarding preparedness for forthcoming festivals of Navratri, Ramzan and Eid-ul-Fitr. The Minister issued necessary instructions to all the concerned officers and agencies for the successful observation of the religious festivals in Delhi.

Shri Imran Hussain said, “during the festive season, a large number of devotees/visitors visit religious places to offer their prayers. As Such, there is a strong need for providing adequate hygiene, Sanitation and cleanliness on the roads and streets around religious places, especially during the festive season.”

The F & S Minister directed the officials of the Delhi Jal Board for the maintenance of proper drainage and an uninterrupted supply of freshwater during the festive season. Shri Imran Hussain said that arrangements for water tankers should also be ensured near religious places so that the devotees do not face any problems during the summer season.

The F & S Minister also discussed the matter related to cleanliness with officials from MCD and directed for ensuring the cleanliness of the roads and streets twice a day in the morning and evenings during the festive seasons. He also directed MCD to provide adequate sanitation manpower for cleaning the streets and roads.

Shri Imran Hussain asked BSES to ensure a regular supply of electricity during the festive season. He also directed the officers to expedite the repair/maintenance work of the street lights installed in the area so that all street lights remain illuminated uninterruptedly. The BSES has also been asked to bring improvement in its efficiency management and complaint redressal system.

Shri Imran Hussain conveyed greetings to all Delhiites on the eve of Navratri, Ramzan and Eid-ul-Fitr festivals, which are festivals of joy, happiness and harmony. These festivals is being celebrated by the members of all communities and religions. It represents the composite culture of the capital city.

Shri Imran Hussain further said that the Kejriwal government is committed to provide necessary and basic facilities such as drinking water, an uninterrupted power supply, ensuring cleanliness and street lights during the festive seasons. Shri Imran Hussain appealed to the citizens to follow COVID-19 protocols and adopt Covid appropriate behaviour during the festive time in a fight against COVID-19.
