BJP’s UP Government should pay heed to the people’s words; should not force parents to be looted by private schools in the name of fees: Manish Sisodia
Difference between CM Arvind Kejriwal & BJP’s governance model out in open today; AAP has banned private schools from hiking fees in Punjab while BJP is conniving with private schools in UP to mint money- Manish Sisodia
BJP government has given a free hand to UP’s schools to loot parents; this is BJP’s education model, shut government schools and let private schools harass the poor: Manish Sisodia
NEW DELHI/UTTAR PRADESH:
Senior AAP Leader and Delhi Deputy CM Shri Manish Sisodia severely criticised the BJP’s UP Government’s move of letting private schools increase fees as they wish. He said — It has been just a few days since the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) came to power in Punjab and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power in Uttar Pradesh, but it clearly reflects in their decisions who is more concerned about the basic needs of the common man. Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Bhagwant Mann took oath on March 16 and within 10 days he ordered that private schools will not be allowed to hike the fees now whereas in UP, as soon as the election got over BJP-led state government allowed private schools to hike the fees as per school administration’s choice. This is an insensitive decision by the BJP government in the times of unprecedented pandemic when people have lost their jobs and are going through severe financial crunch.
Shri Manish Sisodia said, “this is injustice with the common man of Uttar Pradesh. BJP is unable to improve the condition of government schools in Uttar Pradesh. They have ruined the public school education system in the state completely and now they are giving free hand to school administrations to hike the fees. If this is the vision of BJP then who will take care of the needs of the common man.”
He added, “in the past 7 years, private schools in Delhi have been restricted from hiking the fees. Before the Kejriwal Government came into power in 2015, private schools used to hike the fees exorbitantly, by 10-30% every year, but now they can’t do it any more due to restrictions by the government. If any school wants to hike the fees, then they need to take permission from the government. Their accounts are audited by the team from the government and if they are found in need of funds then only they are allowed to hike the fees.”
“The same Kejriwal model of governance is now being followed in Punjab. Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Bhagwant Mann took action on this as soon as he took over as CM. He restricted the schools from hiking fees immediately which was a big relief for parents in the state. Whereas BJP is showing insensitivity and have allowed private school administrations to hike the fees. This shows that BJP is hand in glove with private schools and is least bothered about providing education to children in Uttar Pradesh. BJP does not want the next generation to be educated enough. Is this the governance model of the BJP, where on one hand the public is being hit by inflation in times of COVID and on the other hand the government is favoring the fee hike in private schools,” he continued.
Giving an advice to the government of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Sisodia said that, the UP government should apologise to the parents in states for deceiving them. He added that they should take care of the interests of students and parents and take the decision on fee hike accordingly.
