As the Punjab Government of the Aam Aadmi Party announced 300 units free electricity for all in the state, National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal expressed his joy at the onset of a revolution in Indian politics. He stated — We have fulfilled our first promise in Punjab; we deliver what we promise; we don’t make empty promises like other parties. We saved every penny possible and announced 300 units of free electricity for Punjab within a month. Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “Today Punjab CM Sardar Bhagwant Mann has made a spectacular announcement. Just like how all Delhiites get free electricity, everyone in Punjab too will start getting free electricity from July 1. Every household there will get 300 units of free electricity. Everyone is so delighted with the announcement that their happiness knows no bounds. People weren’t believing that it would actually be possible. When we had announced our guarantee on the same, all rival parties said there’s no money in Punjab to make it possible. But today, we have done it and proved that nothing is impossible. We always do what we say. In just the first year, the AAP Government has fulfilled its first promise in Punjab. I am promising it to the people of the state that we will fulfill every single guarantee of ours one by one soon.”
He added, “these parties have completely looted the treasuries of Punjab. There wasn’t a lot of money left. But as I always say, you just need intent and honesty to make the impossible possible. Aam Aadmi Party is committed to honesty, Sardar Bhagwant Mann is committed to honesty. This is how we’ve saved every penny out there to invest in this project.”
The Delhi CM stated, “We don’t believe in corruption. When we had just come to power in Punjab, all of the big mafias of the state tried to approach me, Mann Sahab, our ministers and MLAs. They asked us how to pay bribes to the government for them to thrive. We gave a simple direction: if you don’t work honestly, you’ll be jailed immediately. And just in one month, we accumulated enough money to announce free electricity for all.”
He continued, “We will fulfill every single promise we’ve made. I believe this measure will greatly help the public in dealing with the crushing inflation. They’ll be able to spend on their families instead. In a day and age where government policies are increasing inflation rates, I’m happy we’re helping the public out. In the last 75 years, not one party fulfilled the promises they made. Some leaders even outright said election promises aren’t meant to be fulfilled. We’re not like them, we’re good people, educated, deshbhakts with a will for honest governance. We fulfill all promises we make. Just have faith in us.”
He concluded, “I can’t understand why the Opposition isn’t happy in Punjab. I expected them to be happy for the public. But why are they acting like this? Why are they opposing pro-people policies? Is it because they don’t want the system to ever change? AAP is here to change the corrupt system. We may not be there tomorrow but we want to change the system for good. So that corruption can be fully eradicated. The opposition will continue to oppose what we do but we don’t care for what they say. We are working in the interest of this country and its people and that’s all that matters.”
The AAP Convenor tweeted, “Bhagwant ji, many congratulations on this wonderful decision. We have fulfilled our first promise. We have done what we promised.
