The Kejriwal Model of Governance is being discussed all over the world today for its people centric policies. Governments of the world are looking forward to learning from this model of governance. MLA Ms Atishi is all set to take “Kejriwal Model of Governance” to another global platform, after representing the same at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) last month. MLA from Kalkaji, Ms. Atishi will be delivering a speech about the Delhi Model in the ‘Malmö Summit: ICLEI World Congress 2021-22’, being held in Malmö, Sweden from May 11-13. She will share the achievements of the Kejriwal Government on how to implement people centric policies that are fiscally responsible and environmentally sustainable.

On 13th May, Ms Atishi will address the mayors and delegates from more than 63 countries in the Malmö Summit and highlight the policies and innovative practices being adopted by the Delhi government and the effects of these policies on the lives of lakhs of common people. These include the work done by the Kejriwal Government on education, healthcare, provision of water and electricity and other steps to improve the lives of the people of Delhi.

While addressing the representatives of various countries, Ms Atishi will be highlighting Delhi’s model of public participation in the process of introducing new innovative schemes and policies and how local governments across the world can learn from this model to facilitate urban sustainable development.

Describing this program, Ms Atishi said, it is a matter of pride for me to present the Delhi Governance Model in front of the whole world at the World Congress in Sweden.

ICLEI is a network of over 2500 local and regional governments committed to sustainable urban development. Operating in 125+ countries, ICLEI works closely with governments to drive urban sustainability. Ms. Atishi is the Vice-President of ICLEI.

She highlighted that this is a great opportunity for governments to learn from each other and help people across the world through policies focussed on the environment and sustainable development.

She further said that today, the Delhi Model of Governance under the leadership of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal is the solution to many challenges being faced by countries across the world. Over the years, the Delhi Government has ensured that all its projects and policies for urban development are designed with public interest in mind while maintaining economic growth, fiscal health and the environment. She also said that it is now time for the world to take note of these practices.
