NEW DELHI / KERALA:

The Aam Aadmi Party has entered Kerala’s political fray with a resolve for change. On Sunday, AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal announced the formation of People’s Welfare Alliance in Kerala where the AAP would tie up with Twenty-20 party. On this occasion, Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “Today is a historic day for Kerala; Through People’s Welfare Alliance, Aam Aadmi Party and Twenty20 will work together for the welfare of Kerala and its people. *AAP first came to power in Delhi, then in Punjab, now its Kerala’s chance to embark upon a revolution of progress. If you want politics, riots, corruption go side with the conventional politicians; if you want progress, education and healthcare, come to AAP. Conventional politicians will never give education and employment to your children; if your child gets educated, who will commit violence and hooliganism for them? The people of this country have immense potential to tread towards growth; we have to now make an alliance of 130 crore Indians and realise our full potential. We believe that the basic tenet of religion is service to society; we are walking on the path shown by God and running a staunch honest government. The Delhi Government offers free education, healthcare, electricity and water to all residents along with free travel for women because of its commitment to honesty. In the last seven years, people have only bestowed blessings on us which have propelled the Delhi Model to world-recognition. If there’s an honest government in Kerala like Delhi then there would be 24×7 free water and electricity here too. Twenty-20 Chief Shri Sabu M Jacob stated, “All political parties have cheated the people of Kerala; AAP & Twenty-20 are working against such kind of politics. The flags of both the parties – blue and white – represent purity and honesty.”

AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal visited Kerala today. The Delhi CM attended Twenty-20 party’s annual function in Kizhakkambalam as its Chief Guest during the visit where he announced the formation of People’s Welfare Alliance in Kerala. Notably, AAP and Twenty-20 have formed this alliance to rid Kerala from the shackles of conventional politicians who have been destroying the state for personal gains.

Announcing the formation of People’s Welfare Alliance, the AAP National Convenor tweeted, “Today is a historic day for Kerala. Through a new political front – People’s Welfare Alliance – Aam Aadmi Party and Twenty20 will work together for the welfare of Kerala and its people.”

Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “Kerala is God’s own country – a beautiful place blessed with equally beautiful people. I believe God has showered his blessings upon me as well, and there have been many such incidents which have been no less than miracles. Ten years ago, no one knew of the Aam Aadmi Party or had heard Arvind Kejriwal’s name. We built this new political party from the ground up, and within a year we formed the government in Delhi. I truly believe some magical forces are at work here. People often credit me for all that we have achieved till date, but Kejriwal did not bring about this miracle. God did. We didn’t just stop there, our government came to power not once but thrice in the National Capital. And recently we saw how Punjab also followed suit, with its newly instated Aam Aadmi Party Government. Now the same wave of change will overtake Kerala, and AAP will form the government here as well. In the Aam Aadmi Party, we walk on the path of truth, honesty, and humanity, and that is why we are blessed with God’s grace.”

He continued, “When I look back at certain instances of my life, they feel miraculous to me. Once when we were leading a movement with Shri Anna Hazare, who had gone on a hunger strike, I followed his footsteps and fasted for 15 days. I am a Diabetes patient and I am required to take 50 units of insulin every single day, and if a Diabetes patient does not eat for even three hours, their sugar levels fall drastically, posing a grave danger to their life. Hence doctors were sure that I would not survive my 15-day fast – that my sugar levels would fall, and I would die. But here I am, alive and well. This is all because of the blessings I have been showered with from above.”

He stated, “When we contested the assembly elections in Delhi for the first time, we had no money or resources. We were a poor party, full of poor people, and we were falling short of candidates. We were faced with 4-5 time MLAs, high profile politicians and ministers; we had gone up against Late Sheila Dikshit’s legacy. On the other hand, we had inexperienced common people as our MLA candidates – a housewife who ran for the Shalimar Bagh constituency, and defeated an MLA who had held his seat for the past four terms; another was Akhilesh Tripathi, a student, contested the elections from Model Town, who also beat a four-time MLA. In the recent assembly elections which took place in Punjab, their sitting CM Charanjit Channi was defeated by a mobile shop technician. In a constituency in Amritsar, Navjot Singh Sidhu contested from Congress, and Bikram Singh Majithia, who is related to the Badal family, fought the elections from Shiromani Akali Dal, and both of these extremely popular and powerful politicians were defeated by a lady who is a junior party worker for AAP. These instances have made it amply clear that when one works with utmost honesty, and fights for the truth, then every single power in this world supports you.”

Shri Arvind Kejriwal further said, “Today the political scenario in our country has become extremely petty and tainted. There is no end to the corruption and plundering at the hands of those in power. Hooliganism and violence have replaced actual governance in most cases. We, at the Aam Aadmi Party on the other hand, simply do not know how to practise such a form of dirty politics, nor do we know the ways of hooliganism and incessant corruption. I am very fond of Saboo Sahab, because he is exactly like me in these matters. I have been running the government in Delhi for the past 7 years based on principles, following the path that God has laid for us with utmost honesty. The first step we took after forming the government in Delhi was to eradicate every trace of corruption from the system. Earlier, every single government service, like issuance of a ration card or a caste/birth/death certificate, a new electricity or water connection, – all required the common people to pay bribes. That is how the process functions here in Kerala, supported by corruption at every stage. Hence, we first ended this immoral practice in Delhi, and completely eliminated corruption from the common public’s life. Now if one needs to avail any such government services, no bribes are needed; in fact a government officer makes sure that your work is taken care of from the comforts of your home. We implemented the doorstep delivery of these services by issuing a number for people to call on – 1076. One can simply call, choose their required service, after which the details of documents required for the same are communicated on the number itself. Following this, a time suited to the person’s needs is fixed for a visit, which saves one the trouble of wandering about government offices, taking an off from work, standing in long lines or paying bribes. None of this is needed, the government will itself visit your home and ensure that your work is done. We will bring about the same kind of reforms in Kerala. In addition, we ended corruption at the higher levels and larger scale as well. Earlier, governments would squander money by inflating a 100 crore project to a 1,000 crore project. All these power hungry politicians and officers would pocket large amounts of money this way. But once the Aam Aadmi Party’s honest government came to power in Delhi, we started saving money in each and every single project. And with the money we saved, we started giving free electricity to Delhi residents 24 hours a day, completely ridding the city of its previous night-long power cuts which lasted 8-9 hours at a time. Earlier there was a lot of voltage fluctuation and the bills were extremely high costing Rs 10,000 at a time. But in these five years, we have completely transformed this to the point that inverter and generator shops are shut in Delhi now. We will give free electricity to all Keralites as well.”

He added, “Change is possible. Transformation is possible. If it can happen in Delhi, it can happen in Kerala too. But you need an honest government to make it happen. Today, healthcare is completely free in Delhi. Irrespective of your caste, religion or class, be it a crocin or a cancer treatment, everything is completely free. We have developed a unique mohalla clinic model to bring free healthcare near people’s homes. We pay every single penny of every single treatment done in Delhi’s government hospitals even if it costs 50 lacs or more. Today, if there’s some illness in a middle class family they’re compelled to shell away all their life savings and sell away all their assets. What we’ve done in Delhi, prevents them from doing so. We don’t just offer free healthcare but we offer world class healthcare for free. Can there be a greater way of offering prayers than helping the needy? In the last seven years I haven’t earned anything but for people’s blessings. It is because of these blessings that the Delhi Model has become world-famous.”

He continued, “Delhi’s government schools used to be in a terrible state before we came to power. The infrastructure was non-existent, some schools even dilapidated, some in tents. There were no toilets, no drinking water. The teachers didn’t come for weeks and the students hated coming to the schools. 16 lac students study in these schools and their future was in the dark. They were being systematically forced into a cycle of poverty. These schools did not want our kids to progress. But then we took charge of Delhi and resolved to eradicate every single fallacy from the education system. In just five years, we revolutionised the government schools. I don’t sing praises without substance. These schools recorded a historic 99.7% pass rate at the class 12th level. This year almost four lac students migrated to government schools from private schools in Delhi. Just think about the blessings we get because of them. Our government is dedicated to serving society. We believe that service to society is the basic tenet of religion.”

The Delhi CM asserted, “The minimum wage in Delhi is around 15,000 a month. Despite the backbreaking inflation, our welfare policies have helped even the weakest section of the society live a life of dignity. All of this is possible only because of our social security net of free education, free healthcare, free transport for the labourers and the women, free electricity and free water. I credit all of this to AAP’s commitment to honesty. I truly believe in the potential of the people of our country. Pick any MNC you want, Indians run them. Where else but in India will you find people taking out time to educate homeless children or distribute food to the needy while having full time jobs. We now have to make an alliance of 130 crore Indians and realise the full potential of the country.”

He added, “We are not here for politics. We are not here for corruption. We are not here for rioting. If you want any of these, go to those old traditional parties. But if you want progress, education and healthcare come to AAP. There is so much unemployment in the country. We are combating it as hard as we can. We’ve given 12 lac jobs in the last five years in Delhi alone. We will give 20 lac more jobs in the next five years. Look at Kerala, 40 lac people are registered in employment exchange here. These old parties will never give employment to your children. They won’t give your children education. They want to create an army of unemployed, uneducated people to commit vandalism for them. We are a party of decent people. We don’t know what vandalism is neither do we want to engage in it.”

He concluded, “When I came across Sabu Sahab I was inspired. He is such a successful industrialist yet he is working for the underprivileged. Think, why would an industrialist of his calibre work for a panchayat? And this is when the rest of the industrialists of our country are busy making it to the race of top-five lists. He has dedicated his life to getting basic facilities delivered to the poor. I personally witnessed his work today. He is protecting the poor from inflation. He transformed a Rs 36 lac debt ridden panchayat to a panchayat with Rs 14 crore in FD. Just look at the schools and roads of the panchayat. You will see that he is doing God’s work. Just like me, he too doesn’t know the ABC of politics. I am very impressed. The AAP is actively working on transforming Indian politics forever. And I am delighted to announce AAP’s alliance with Twenty-20 in Kerala. We have to transform Kerala. We have done it in Delhi, and Punjab, now it is the time for Kerala.”

At the same time, Twenty-20 Chief Shri Sabu M Jacob said, “All political fronts deceived the people of Kerala. They have not done justice to the people of Kerala. Poor remain poor despite all promises. They have used the electorate as a tool to get power. Both Aam Aadmi Party and T20 are antithesis to it. Leaders of both these parties are not conventional politicians. They want to change the system. Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal resigned from IRS and to work for the people. Now he is the leader of a party that rules two states. The flags of both the parties – blue and white – represent purity and honesty. There is free bus service in Delhi for women. Still DTC is in profit. What about KSRTC? It incurs huge losses in crores daily. They are trying to construct the K-Rail. This is a project that wants to just to trouble people and earn commissions. Due to poor public fund management, Kerala may become another Sri Lanka Soon. In Kerala all public sector enterprises are in huge loss. Lack of opportunities force youngsters in Kerala to leave the state for education and employment. There are 40 lakh unemployed youth in Kerala. In 2016-21, 32 political murders were seen in Kerala. In the last year, 12 political murders happened alone. There is a need for change and transformation. We should create opportunities for our children and youth. Let this be a beginning.”
