Social Welfare Minister Shri Rajendra Pal Gautam inspected the District Social Welfare Office in East Delhi’s Geeta Colony today. During the inspection he interacted with the District Social Welfare Officer regarding the facilities provided to the citizens. Along with this he also took stock of the welfare schemes run by the Kejriwal Government for the benefit of citizens of Delhi through the Social Welfare Office. He said, “I had a meeting with officers and workers at the Social Welfare Office and held a discussion about the implementation of welfare schemes and facilities provided by the Social Welfare Office. I also directed the officers to resolve the pending issues at the earliest.”
The Social Welfare Minister said, “The Kejriwal Government is committed to providing world class facilities to the citizens in a smooth and efficient manner so that they do not face any obstacles while availing the benefit of its various welfare schemes. I interacted with the beneficiaries who visited the office, who informed me that they were impressed with the functioning of the social welfare office – that the seating arrangement is very efficient, officers and workers are very cordial in their behaviour and are prompt in their response while assisting the citizens.”
He further said, “Financial assistance schemes like Old Age Pension Scheme, Disabled (Divyaang) Pension Scheme, Mukhyamantri COVID-19 Pariwar Aarthik Sahayata Scheme etc. are being operated by the Social Welfare Department. Information about all these schemes can be obtained on the e-District portal. The department is functioning smoothly through this online platform.” Shri Rajendra Pal Gautam also spoke with the beneficiaries of the Old Age Pension Scheme, the Delhi Family Benefit Scheme, and the Disabled Pension Scheme.
Aside from that, the Social Welfare Minister asked people about their experiences with the NSAP portal and helpline. Along with this, the office’s acknowledgment receipts, troubleshooting procedures, facilities supplied to beneficiaries, infrastructure, and personnel working styles were well known and appreciated by all.
