Social Welfare Minister Shri Rajendra Pal Gautam visited the Asha Jyoti Home situated in Nirmal Chhaya Campus today where he inspected the facilities for the stay of resident women and children. Along with this, he also inaugurated a community hall after the name of Sant Durbal Nath in Karol Bagh. During his visit to the Nirmal Chhaya Campus, he reiterated the commitment of the Kejriwal government to provide all the necessary services and facilities to the differently-abled people in Delhi. While inaugurating a community hall after the name of Sant Durbal Nath in Karol Bagh, he said that the inauguration was done keeping in mind the demand of the people of Karol Bagh to get their community hall functional soon and it should be named after Sant Durbal Nath Maharaj.

The Social Welfare Minister visited the Asha Jyoti Home situated in Nirmal Chhaya Campus. During his visit, he also inspected the premises. Asha Jyoti Home has a residential area, kitchen, professional classes, healthcare facilities and a physiotherapy room and Shri Rajendra Pal Gautam reviewed the facilities provided there. He also met the Gold medallist of the 2019 Special Olympics who won in the powerlifting (female) category. Director, Social Welfare, District Social Welfare Officer (West) and other senior officials were also present during the inspection.

Along with this, Social Welfare Minister Shri Rajendra Pal Gautam also inaugurated a community hall after the name of Sant Durbal Nath in Karol Bagh. Delhi Legislative Assembly SC/ST Committee Chairman Vishesh Ravi who is also an MLA from Karol Bagh was also present on the occasion. Shri Rajendra Pal Gautam dedicated the community hall to the people after inaugurating it. He also informed that the SC/ST/OBC Department of the Delhi Government is constructing more such community halls, which will be completed soon.

Shri Rajendra Pal Gautam said, “The Kejriwal government is committed to providing all the necessary services and facilities to the differently-abled people in Delhi.” While inaugurating a community hall named after Sant Durbal Nath in Karol Bagh, he said, “the inauguration was done keeping in mind the demand of the people of Karol Bagh to get their community hall functional soon and it should be named after Sant Durbal Nath Maharaj.”

About Asha Jyoti Home

It provides care and security, food, clothes, education, recreational and professional training, sports, and health facilities to destitute/orphan women and middle-class adult residents. It is operational till 14 June 2022 and the current number is 120. There is a facility to outsource security and cleaning at home. All the residents are provided with food and clothes per the regulations. Their daily routine consists of physical activities and sports, prayer and yoga, and professional education classes. In the morning, craft and sculpture activities are conducted and in the evening, story recitation, dance and music activities are conducted.
