Fishery Project at Lamhai Dunki Village Peren District Nagaland To Create Self Employment Under North East Rural Livelihood Project

Fishery Project at Lamhai Dunki village, Peren District, Nagaland, implemented by Fisheries Department agency, Nagaland with the help of Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region. The project is located at Lamhai Dunki Village, Peren, Nagaland.

 The project’s approved cost is Rs. 334.00 lakhs, and North  Eastern Council’s share isRs. 300.60 lakhs and state’s share is Rs. 33.40 lakhs.

The objective is to improve the socio-economic condition of the rural populace, to generate sustainable employment opportunities among the village communities and unemployed youths through fishery related activities. Basic aim is to promote modern scientific technologies for effective management and optimum utilization.

From this project the average fish production is near about 30753 kg, and the annual turnover is approx Rs. 430 lakhs. Manifold increase in the total fish production of the state, create self-employment among the local populace and reduce gap in demand and supply of fish.
