Food & Civil Supplies Minister of Delhi and MLA of Ballimaran Shri Imran Hussain along with officers of Delhi Jal Board visited the project site to inspect the progress of upgradation of Pahari Dhiraj Underground Reservoir(UGR) in Quresh Nagar ward. The renovation of the Underground Reservoir at Quresh Nagar ward is being done with the aim to keep pace with the growing water demands of the area and ensure a proper equitable water supply to all residents.
Shri Imran Hussain informed that by the given demand of the residents and to rationalize the water distribution system in the area, the proposal of upgradation of this UGR was formulated. The huge renovation of this Underground Reservoir(UGR) is being carried out with an estimated cost of Rs. 27 lakhs. This upgraded UGR contains two tanks with the water storage of around 16 lakh gallon capacity.
On renovation of this UGR, around 30 Thousand population of Ramnagar and Quresh Nagar Ward will be benefited from equitable water distribution with increased water pressure. Upon completion of this project, it will help in resolving complaints of water contamination and also ensure an uninterrupted supply of fresh water in the area. During the visit, Delhi Jal Board officers were also directed to repair or replace damaged water pipelines to ensure an uninterrupted supply of freshwater in the area.
Shri Imran Hussain informed that under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal, various development works are being carried out promptly in Ballimaran assembly constituency including high mast lights, development works in katras, segregation of electric wires, New water pipeline, road construction and repair, sewer line work, Barat Ghar, Community centre and Chaupal construction etc with an estimated cost of over 100 crores.
