AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal appealed to BJP and Congress supporters to give a chance to Aam Aadmi Party in Uttarakhand. He promised to transform the Devbhoomi in 5 years. He stated — I am not asking you to join AAP, remain loyal to the party you are in but vote for AAP. You gave 10 years to Congress, 11 to BJP but they both wreaked havoc on the people and hindered the development of Uttarakhand. AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal said, “Today I’d like to address all supporters of the BJP and the Congress. It is my appeal to you to remain loyal to the party you are in. We are not asking you to abandon your parties and join the Aam Aadmi Party. Our one request to you, the people of Uttarakhand, is that this election season, you vote for us, regardless of your party allegiance to BJP or the Congress or any other party. This time, for once, I appeal to the people to push the button for AAP while voting.”
He continued, “Congress was given 10 years by its voters. What did their government achieve or provide for you in these 10 years? Did they work for the state’s progress, for its people and their families? Did the Congress work on improving the education sector for your children? Did they provide jobs to the youth? Did they arrange any healthcare facilities in your area? When none of these basic responsibilities were fulfilled by the Congress, what is the point of voting for them again? Nonetheless, I am not asking you to leave your party and join us. The Aam Aadmi Party is a fairly new political party. You have already wasted 10 precious years on the Congress, and there is no benefit in giving them another 5 years, which will yet again be wasted away, and no progress will take place. They will not mend their ways. If voted to power, the Congress Government will resume its misgovernance and incompetence and hinder the state of Uttarakhand from flourishing. So hence, we appeal to you to vote for a fresh face, a fresh perspective which only the Aam Aadmi Party brings to the table. We have nominated a fresh candidate for the CM’s post.”
The AAP Convenor further said, “We have delivered on our promises and made immense progress in Delhi. Similarly, we have ideated an elaborate agenda with new and revolutionary plans to ensure Uttarakhand’s development. We will make healthcare facilities accessible in even the most remote villages in the state. And when we do this, the Congress supporters will also reap the benefits of our schemes as their families will also get free treatment. The Aam Aadmi Party will build schools across the state in every village to make sure that quality education is provided to every child in Uttarakhand. We will transform the government schools, mirroring our Delhi model. Yet again, the children of Congress members or supporters will benefit from our work. We will create and provide jobs for the youth of Uttarakhand. And an unemployment allowance till said jobs are secured. Thereby, unemployed people belonging to Congress or supporters of Congress will also have a lot to gain from the Aam Aadmi Party’s rise to power in their state. We will provide free electricity 24×7, which will again benefit the Congress and its supporters. Today I ardently appeal to all Congress voters and supporters to give one chance to the Aam Aadmi Party for Uttarakhand’s sake.”
He added, “Similarly, it is my appeal to the BJP supporters – that you have given 11-12 years to that party so far. Did they work on any projects for your welfare? In fact, this time they switched the Chief Minister thrice if anything. When the CM post is filled by different people time and again, how will the government function? Did the BJP do anything for your families, your children, for the entire state of Uttarakhand? Were they able to build good schools or hospitals in your neighbourhood? The BJP did absolutely nothing for the welfare of Uttarakhand and its people. Even if you give them another 5 years, nothing will change; the misgovernance, the corruption, and the incessant plundering will continue. Being a relatively new party, AAP has brought a fresh perspective, ideas, and faces into the Indian political arena to carry out actual change. We have developed a complete agenda for the holistic development of Uttarakhand. We want to build impressive government schools in Uttarakhand, just as we have done in Delhi. Health services will be provided from village to village. Everyone in Uttarakhand will receive free medical treatment. When we provide electricity for 24 hours a day, and implement our other agenda points, the BJP supporters will benefit as well.”
He further stated, “I want to appeal primarily to the supporters and voters of the BJP and Congress through the press to give the Aam Aadmi Party a chance once for the sake of Uttarakhand and your country. You have given the other parties numerous opportunities. Over 21 years, the Congress and BJP collectively contributed to a staggering debt of 72 thousand crore rupees for Uttarakhand. They should be held accountable for their actions. We guarantee that in five years, we will have paid off Uttarakhand’s previous debt and turned the government around completely. It will also include a variety of amenities, as promised in our guarantees. We have done it in Delhi, and we will do it again.”
