School is using innovative methods to strengthen foundational literacy among students through Reading Campaign

Dy CM admonished the Estate Manager for not ensuring adequate hygiene in school; said providing well-maintained educational space should be his priority

Continuing the series of surprise inspections, Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Shri Manish Sisodia visited the Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya in D- Block, Jahangirpuri on Tuesday. He spoke to the students about academic activities and their experiences of studying new curricula – the Happiness Curriculum and the Deshbhakti Curriculum. He also reviewed the progress of the Reading campaign at school. He further admonished the Estate Manager for not ensuring adequate hygiene in school premises. Slamming him for negligence, the Deputy Chief Minister said that he must get rid of the thought that students of government schools will manage and study in untidy campuses now. Strict action will be taken against the concerned officials for keeping the campuses untidy.

He further interacted with the students of Class 7, checked on the progress of the Reading Campaign and spoke to students about their experiences of the Happiness Curriculum and the Deshbhakti Curriculum. Students said that they are strengthening their language skills through innovative methods like role-play. They further added that Happiness Classes help them relax their minds at the beginning of the day, which further aids them in focusing better on their studies. Moreover, the Deshbhakti curriculum has helped them change their mindset towards society and their country. Learning about the lives of freedom fighters and reformers is helping them understand how their actions can impact society – both positively and negatively.

In addition, the students of Class 11 shared their thoughts on Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum, which has helped them become risk-takers. Students said that this curriculum has helped them understand the fact that opportunities are present everywhere, one just needs to develop the mindset and start looking for them. EMC has strengthened their critical thinking, analyzing, and decision making skills, the students remarked.
