NEW DELHI/GUJARAT
After Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi and Senior Leader of Aam Aadmi Party Shri Manish Sisodia exposed the reality of the public schooling system in Gujarat on Monday, BJP sent its MPs in Delhi government schools to look for irregularities. Despite spending the whole day in the field MPs found nothing in school infrastructure to crib about. Speaking about the reaction of BJP on his visit to Gujarat government schools, Shri Manish Sisodia said, “Today I feel proud that on being exposed, BJP government has sent its MPs in Delhi Government schools. At least they are out to see how the public education system can be improved. I am proud that Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal transformed the government schools of Delhi and made them world-class in just 7 years, which the BJP government could not do in the past 27 years in Gujarat.” He said that he is happy to see such a reaction from the BJP and it is good that political parties are now talking about education.
While addressing the press conference in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, he added that the condition of government schools in Gujarat and interaction with students here reminded me of a conversation with a child in Delhi government school in 2015. That child during first interaction with the education minister of Delhi had said, “We are not the future of this country because we study in government schools, the future of this country studies in private schools.”
Shri Sisodia said, “While talking to the students here I felt that they might be having the same feeling while studying in a government school like this, which has cracks in ceiling, crumbling walls, web of wires dangling overhead, no blackboards or desks in the classrooms. This is the situation in the constituency of Gujarat Education Minister Jitubhai Vaghani who keeps on boasting about the world-class public education system of Gujarat. Is this the world-class education model of BJP? What the BJP government has been doing for the past 27 years.” He added that despite such a poor state of government schools in Gujarat, BJP is not accepting its faults and their education minister is making arrogant statements such as- “Those who have problem with the education model of Gujarat, can move to Delhi”.
Inviting the Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendrabhai Patel and Education Minister Jitubhai Vaghani to Delhi Government schools Shri Manish Sisodia said, “Learning from a successful model should not be considered shameful. Ministers from Gujarat can visit the Delhi government schools whenever they want. Quality education for all is a mandatory requirement for the progress of the nation and we as political parties must work for it.”
He said that after the inspection of Gujarat government schools went live on various social media platforms hundreds of images of government schools and messages from parents are being received by the AAP Gujarat team. If elected our aim would be to change this heart wrenching image of Gujarat schools. In the 2022 elections in Gujarat our alliance will be with the common people of Gujarat and if elected we will bring the Kejriwal model of Governance in Gujarat too.
