The AAP has hit back hard after BJP’s self goal of flagging a shortage of principals in Delhi Government Schools despite knowing it is the Centre’s job to appoint them. AAP Senior Leader and MLA Ms Atishi said that the Kejriwal Model is forcing politicians to discuss education instead of caste and religion. She stated — Centre’s UPSC controls appointment of principals in Delhi Government Schools. NCPCR & Manoj Tiwari should visit schools in MP, UP & Gujarat to see how their governments force students to sit in junkyards. The Kejriwal Government’s work speaks for itself; government school kids are now clearing IIT-JEE. Manoj Tiwari, Ramesh Bidhuri & Parvesh Verma could not find a single school in Delhi without teachers to teach or benches to sit. If BJP is as concerned about the children of Delhi as it is about its politics, then it should get UPSC to appoint the principals immediately. AAP Senior Leader and MLA Ms Atishi said, “I am happy that the BJP’s central government, their MPs and leaders, who have always been doing politics in the name of religion and caste, are today at least talking about education. This is the success of the Aam Aadmi Party and the Kejriwal Model that every party in the country has been forced to talk about schools today.”
The MLA added, “I will urge BJP’s Manoj Tiwari and NCPCR to visit some schools in states like Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. They will then come to know how schools are being run by their governments in junkyards, children have no benches to sit, no water to drink, no toilets. Because of CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s fantastic model of governance today the students of Delhi Government schools are clearing IIT-JEE and are getting better results than private schools. This is the reason why Manoj Tiwari, Ramesh Bidhuri and Parvesh Verma could not find a single school where children did not have benches to sit or teachers to teach. With great difficulty, they found two or four schools and said that there is no new white wash on the walls here.”
She continued, “The Central Government’s UPSC has to recruit principals for government schools in Delhi. We have said time and again that we should have the right to recruit our principals, get their exams done, but UPSC is sitting on that file for a very long time. I would urge Manoj Tiwari that if he is equally concerned about the children studying in Delhi Government Schools as he is concerned about his politics, then he should get that file out and get the recruitment of principals done, so that the shortage of principals in Delhi government schools is dealt with.”
