NEW DELHI:

After announcing the Rozgar Budget and setting its priorities of generating employment opportunities and economic growth in Delhi, the Kejriwal Government has initiated the implementation process for the announced schemes on an immediate basis. For this purpose, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia chaired a meeting to review the progress of the announced schemes and policy with the officials of the Finance Department and Dialogue and Development Commission, Delhi. Following up on the review conducted by the Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal earlier this month, the Deputy CM has suggested that the respective departments take immediate action to start implementing the various projects and has taken a project wise update across all sectors.

Starting with retail, the Government has initiated the planning for the Dilli Shopping festival which includes conducting a stakeholder consultation with key members of retail market associations planned on 21st April, 2022. The Kejriwal Government intends to make this a completely collaborative process and seek suggestions and opinions from the retail market associations at every stage of the development of retail markets and for planning the Dilli Shopping Festival. For Grade A retail and Food Hubs, with a focus on developing them on bus depots and terminals, discussions are to be scheduled with the Transport Department to prepare an action plan to take the project forward.

The Kejriwal Government is currently identifying potential locations for setting up the Food Trucks and coming up with a process for streamlining the regulations for their installation. Similarly, for facilitating the growth of Cloud Kitchens in Delhi, the Delhi Government is reducing the existing regulatory burden on this industry and identifying potential land parcels where cloud kitchen clusters will be set up. To take this forward, a consultation with various key players in the Cloud Kitchen industry will be held by the Dialogue and Development Commission on 26th April, 2022.

Focusing on the manufacturing sector, the Dialogue and Development Commission under the Government of Delhi, has engaged with a knowledge partner, EPIC Foundation, for developing the road map of Delhi’s Electronic City. Additionally, the formulation of a policy for redevelopment of non-conforming industrial areas is already underway.
