Motilal Nehru College (MLNC) of the Delhi University on Wednesday organised a prize distribution ceremony on the occasion of its 56th Annual Day. Kalkaji MLA Atishi was the chief guest of the program. During the ceremony, Ms. Atishi gave three important pieces of advice to the students for their bright future. Speaking on the occasion, she said, “College years are very special because in those years students do not have that much responsibility. When we are in school, our life is often controlled by our parents. But life in college is different and when we go into jobs or professions then we have to fulfill different types of responsibilities.”

Ms. Atishi advised the students to take the important decisions of their life on their own. She further added that, “if we do not take decisions of our lives independently, then when we go through a difficult phase in our life, it is often seen that we start blaming other people for it.”

She advised the students to choose their career wisely. She urged students not to choose a career just because they want to earn money but on the basis of their interest. She said, “Whatever career you choose, always keep in mind your interest in it, do not choose a career just for the sake of earning money. Choose a career in which you find your interest and contentment.”

She further added, “No matter how successful you are in life, never forget your country, your society and your parents because it is they who make you capable so that you can take your decisions independently and get good job options and be successful in life.”

The objective of this program was to promote talent among students who are good in Academics & Co-curricular activities. During the function, students who performed well in various subjects and extra-curricular activities were honored with prizes and awards. During the prize distribution ceremony, Ms. Atishi also awarded Praveen Kumar, who won a silver medal in the Paralympics for India in 2020.

Principal, MLNC, Prof. Dr. Shrivats, Chairman, MLNC, Tarun Bais and Secretary Staff Council Nama Ashish Prem Singh were also present at this event. Besides this, Pramila Tokas, Madhuri Varshnev, ILA Srivastava, Gunjan Grover and Prince Sharma were the Guests of Honor at the Annual Day Festival.
