Education is the most effective tool for upliftment of marginalized communities; More youth should come forward to work in this direction – Dy CM Manish Sisodia

NEW DELHI

The Delhi Government truly believes in making the next generation aware about the issues of the societies and resolve them with their help. In this view, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia met young fellows associated with an organisation called DISOM and their leadership team. These fellows are undergoing training in youth leadership and grassroots democracy.

While interacting with the fellows, Shri Manish Sisodia said, “It was a dream of Babasaheb Ambedkar to provide equal status to marginalised communities in the society and DISOM fellows are making his dream come true with their dedication and hardwork. Youth coming out of colleges today, should think of contributing to society by making it a better place to live. They should think of resolving existing social issues.”

The Deputy Chief Minister added that one of the most effective tools that can help in upliftment of marginalized communities is education. More youth like DISOM fellows should come forward to work in this direction and make quality education accessible to children in these communities. He said that, focus of education should be on enabling children to become job providers and inculcating growth mindsets, instead of completion of syllabus and degrees.

Shri Sisodia added that one needs to have a strong will power to make it possible. If the internet can reach any part of the country, then why not quality education.

DISOM – The Leadership School works on developing the political and social ‘servant leaders’ of the future. DISOM fellows are working across 8 states to develop social reform and political understanding of backward society and make them work in a decisive role in the society.
