The Aam Aadmi Party has come out strongly in defence, showing solidarity with Delhi Health Minister Shri Satyendar Jain after the BJP sent its hounds behind the party yet again. The party’s senior leadership has called the Health Minister’s arrest a politically motivated attempt to hinder AAP’s rise in Himachal Pradesh. AAP Senior Leader and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia tweeted, “Shri Satyendar Jain’s arrest is politically motivated. He has been arrested in a fake & baseless 8 year old case. BJP fears a crushing loss in Himachal at the hands of AAP which is why they coerced the ED to arrest him. ED has summoned Shri Satyendar Jain several times. They stopped calling him as they had nothing against him. The case has been reopened as Sr Satyendar Jain was appointed AAP’s Himachal In-charge. BJP got him arrested so they could stop him from going to Himachal”. At the same time, AAP Senior Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh said, “The people who were the owners of these companies during 2015-2017 have confessed to their crimes in the court and clearly submitted that all the money belongs to them; The court has also accepted this point. AAP Senior Leader and Rajya Sabha Member Shri Sanjay Singh said, “The Bharatiya Janata Party has sent its hounds after the AAP once again. The Enforcement Directorate arrested Delhi Health Minister Shri Satyendar Jain in an eight year old, false & baseless case today. The BJP government has alleged that Shri Satyendar Jain was involved in hawala work through some companies between 2015 and 2017. The truth however is that Shri Satyendar Jain had resigned from all these companies in March 2013 and had nothing to do with these companies during 2015-2017. The people who were the owners of these companies during 2015-2017 have confessed to their crimes in the court and clearly submitted that all this money belongs to them. The court has also accepted this point. The ED summoned Shri Satyendar Jain seven times in 2018. But they didn’t have anything against him. Following that, the ED took no action from 2019 to the present. The case appeared to be closed. Now the case has been reopened before the Himachal elections with a clear vested interest of the BJP.”
He further said, “Shri Satyendar Jain had already appeared before the ED a total of seven times for this case. However, not once did the ED feel the need to arrest him on any of these occasions. The CBI had also registered a case connected to the one the ED was pursuing, and found that there was no evidence against Delhi’s health minister, and gave him a clean chit. However, the moment Shri Satyendar Jain was given political charge for the state of Himachal Pradesh, where the BJP is the ruling party, it caused them to grow restless out of the fear of a crushing defeat at the hands of AAP. This is the reason that Shri Satyendar Jain has been baselessly arrested in a false case. This is blatant harassment, which has yet again exposed BJP’s true and dark reality in front of the public.”
He continued, “A case in which the CBI had already given its clean chit – a baseless matter of possession of disproportionate assets that arose eight years ago. We all remember how the BJP had made a huge deal out of this gimmick. I say, this is not a matter of ED or CBI. This is yet another matter of BJP’s manhandling of the state machinery to prey upon its rivals.”
He added, “The Aam Aadmi Party stands behind Shri Satyendar Jain and reinforces its trust in the judicial systems. We are confident that Shri Satyendar Jain will come out scot-free from the courts because this case is completely fake and baseless. The BJP can prey upon the soldiers of AAP for our whole lifetime, but I guarantee, that we are the warriors of truth and honesty and no matter what kind of harassment we are subjected to, we will stand firm and fight back. The Aam Aadmi Party will go into the Himachal Pradesh elections with unflinched spirit and crush the BJP like no one ever has. This is nothing more than a political ploy that the BJP has enforced as it counts its final days in Himachal.”
AAP Senior Leader and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia lashed out at the BJP for manhandling the state-machinery and tweeted, “A fake case was registered against Shri Satyendar Jain 8 years ago and has been going on ever since. Till now, ED has repeatedly summoned him, which he has duly complied with. The ED had stopped summoning him for many years as they had nothing against him. Now their antics have started again after Shri Satyendar Jain was appointed the election in-charge of Himachal. The BJP is losing badly in Himachal. Shri Satyendar Jain was arrested today so that he could be stopped from going to Himachal. He will be released in a few days as the case is completely fake.”
