NEW DELHI
AAP Delhi Convenor and Cabinet Minister Shri Gopal Rai addressed a gathering today at Sai Chowk in Indrapur’s Dasghara Village. A massive crowd gathered and raised the slogan “Apna Kaam Karana Hai, Jhaadu Ka Button Dabana Hai”. Shri Gopal Rai said that BJP lost its confidence in Rajesh Bhatia and now he wants the people of Rajinder Nagar to believe in him. I challenge BJP and Congress to give proof of their work when they were in power. Even a person living in a slum can list the work done by AAP. Work done by both BJP and Congress combined would fall short of the progress brought by the Kejriwal government. People are saying it is Shri Arvind Kejriwal who works for our welfare, so we will cast our votes for him. If BJP had not sensed a massive defeat through its survey, Adesh Gupta would have been their candidate. BJP’s arrogance is making them buy votes from money; they don’t care how much crowd is showing up for Shri Durgesh Pathak’s padyatras or rallies. I challenge BJP that their black money will go waste; they won’t be able to even save security deposits. We will ensure that we will do twice the amount of work we have done in 2.5 years and create a record.
Senior AAP Leader and Cabinet Minister Shri Gopal Rai said, “On 23rd June, Jhaadu is going to do what it knows best, sweep Delhi clean. Jhaadu is used every day for sweeping, what’s different this time? Ever since the Rajinder Nagar Legislative Assembly by-elections have been announced, the BJP are putting posters with the slogan “Sthaniya voter, Shaniya MLA.” We don’t know these people or their faces because they are not used to visiting the area or interacting with the people. They were heard saying in a video that Shri Durgesh Pathak is seeking votes in the name of Shri Arvind Kejriwal. They have a problem with that. They did not have a problem when Shri Arvind Kejriwal announced free electricity and water for the people of Rajinder Nagar. They did not have a problem when Shri Arvind Kejriwal announced free transportation of women of Rajinder Nagar. He has ensured the progress of the area because of which the people of the area will ensure that they will vote for him.”
He said, “Rajesh Bhatia who was a mere councillor five years back was comparing his election campaign with AAP’s campaign by saying that if Shri Durgesh Pathak’s shoes got flattened because of massive campaigning then I am also not far behind. I also lost my hair while walking during campaigning. This defies science because the Ayurveda experts are of the opinion that walking results in hair gain. He is boasting on his chest by saying that he is a localite and workaholic. If that’s the reality then why was he not given the ticket to contest in the election five years ago? Even BJP lost its confidence in him and he wants the people to believe in him.”
He continued, “Ever since Shri Raghav Chadha was sent to Rajya Sabha, senior BJP leaders including Delhi State President Adesh Gupta were making big claims that they will contest the election from this seat. Soon Sirsa and Bagga followed him in making claims of their own. They kept putting posters but the day Shri Durgesh Pathak was announced as AAP’s candidate, BJP conducted a survey and they found that they won’t be in a position to even save their security amount. Everybody disappeared afterwards. The only exception was R P Singh who campaigned a bit despite losing the past two elections. If he was BJP’s candidate, we could have expected some competition. But when BJP does not have faith in you, people do not have faith in you, he is making a slogan “Local voters, Local MLA”. Let’s take a hypothetical where he wins the election, he won’t be able to make a big difference because it is the Kejriwal Government which is working tirelessly to serve the people. And the pending issues will also be resolved by the Kejriwal Government.”
Shri Gopal Raid said, “I want to reiterate that if BJP would not sense a massive defeat through a survey, Adesh Gupta would have been their candidate. But now they don’t have any clue as to what to do next. The people of Delhi and Rajinder Nagar have given a chance to BJP, followed by Congress and then the AAP to form a government and have an MLA from their party in the area. As Shri Arvind Kejriwal says, I want you to judiciously assess the work done by BJP and Congress and compare it to work done by AAP. Both of them combined would fall short of the progress brought by the Kejriwal Government. Hence, I ask you to vote for Jhaadu on 23rd June as much as possible so that it gives motivation to Shri Arvind Kejriwal to work with double zeal in the next 2.5 years.”
He continued, “BJP is about to bring an entourage of Union Ministers. I am challenging them. They are using God’s name in a poster with the slogan “Jo Ram ko lae hain, humko unko laenge” which shows their arrogance and shrewdness. No one is that mighty to bring God to the country. This arrogance will be broken by the people of Rajinder Nagar who are true devotees of Lord Ram. This is an insult to Lord Ram and people will not let that happen. I want to challenge them and Congress to show records of the work done when they were in power. We are ready to give proof of our work and we don’t even need a big leader to do that. Even the junior most AAP workers can do that with ease. Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s work speaks for itself.”
He emphasised, “This election is quite crucial and equally crucial is the fact that all of the voters cast their votes. If they are outside the station, call them back. This election is an election of integrity. BJP is planning to buy votes from money to defeat AAP. Such is their arrogance that they don’t believe in the sanctity of elections. They don’t care how much crowd is showing up for Shri Durgesh Pathak’s padyatras or rallies. Gone are those days when it was possible to entice the poor to cast vote in their favour by using black money. I dare them for a contest and neither their money will be of any use, nor they will be able to save their security deposit. People have taken it upon themselves to make this possible.”
He continued, “This is not Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s or Shri Durgesh Pathak’s election but our election. This is an election to ensure that we keep getting electricity and water, women get to travel in public transport safely for free, and mohalla clinics remain functional to serve the patients. You have to ensure the wheel of progress remains in motion. We will ensure that we will do twice the amount of work we have done in 2.5 years and create a record. That’s why it is pertinent that you create a record on 23rd June as well. We will be visiting every doorstep to ensure that we receive twice the number of votes we received in the previous election. You give chance to every candidate during campaigning but in the end, listen to your heart.”
He concluded, “AAP is the only trustworthy party and the rest are doubtful. You have to use Jhaadu to clean the dirt in your area. They do pity politics by using religion, caste and money and we have to rise above that. We have to tighten our shoes and see it as our election where we are competing for our welfare. We cannot risk our remaining 2.5 years. We have to be on our toes in the remaining 10 days and reach out to everyone, especially the office goers. 23rd June is a working day and not a holiday. They have to get in the queue early in the morning itself to cast their vote and then go to the office. We have set a record and hence, every vote matters.”
