The BJP’s lust for money did not end even after looting away every penny of the MCD. Delhi BJP’s President Adesh Gupta himself has been served a Delhi High Court notice for encroaching on MCD land. Today, the Aam Aadmi Party held a protest demonstration at the BJP headquarters in response to Adesh Gupta’s illegal encroachments. AAP Senior Leader and MCD In-charge Shri Durgesh Pathak said that Adesh Gupta has maintained cowardly silence on the High Court notice sent to him and he must come out in the open and give answers about his shady dealings. AAP’s South MCD LoP Shri Prem Chauhan stated that taking school land hostage is perhaps the biggest act of immorality and Adesh Gupta has crossed all heights of corruption by doing so. AAP’s East MCD LoP Manoj Tyagi further added that Adesh Gupta is supposed to be the brains of Delhi BJP and if the brain itself is so corrupt then one can only imagine what those at his command must be like.
Earlier, at the party headquarters, the LoPs of South and East MCD, Shri Prem Chauhan and Shri Manoj Tyagi, led all councillors and nominated councillors of the AAP in raising slogans against Adesh Gupta for illegal construction. During this time, the Aam Aadmi Party demanded that Adesh Gupta resign immediately. The party contends that Adesh Gupta defrauded the people of Delhi and thus has no right to continue as the president; he should be removed from his position right away.
Shri Durgesh Pathak, Senior AAP leader and MCD in-charge, stated, “BJP Delhi State President Adesh Gupta encroached on MCD school land for personal use. On that land parcel, he and his sons built a political office for him. What a shame that they are taking school land hostage and constructing offices on it illegally. This is like rubbing salt on the wounds of poor children who already suffer from the incompetence of MCD schools. They have left no respect for Right To Education of the financially weak. The Delhi High Court had issued a notice to Adesh Gupta for his involvement in illegal construction. However, Adesh Gupta is yet to respond to it. The Bharatiya Janata Party claims to be a pure and pious party, but their true nature is quite different from it. If anyone speaks out against them, these people threaten to sue them. Why is Adesh Gupta failing to respond to the High Court’s notice? He must answer.”
At the same time Shri Prem Chauhan, Leader of Opposition of the South MCD said, “The BJP controls the MCD, and its state chief, Adesh Gupta, is a sitting councillor and former mayor. He is well-versed with the cheap tricks of corruption. Adesh Gupta made an office for himself by occupying the school land in his own ward in Patel Nagar. The party itself claims that they have no tolerance for nepotism, but here their chief, along with his sons, is committing corruption. This is the very nature of the BJP. Our only demand is that Adesh Gupta should be sacked immediately.”
Shri Manoj Tyagi, Leader of Opposition of the East MCD said, “Adesh Gupta, the BJP’s state president, held MCD land hostage and is misusing it for his family’s benefit. The leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, which preaches honesty and promotes nationalism in Delhi is doing so. Adesh Gupta is supposed to be the brains of Delhi BJP; if the brain itself is so corrupt then one can only imagine what those at his command must be like. We, along with all of our councillors, demand Adesh Gupta’s dismissal. His resignation should be taken immediately, and he should be removed from this position for deceiving the people of Delhi in such a heinous manner.”
