NEW DELHI:
The Aam Aadmi Party is leaving no stone unturned in its quest for the MCD. The party has announced unique ‘Booth Samvaad’ & ‘MCD Badlaav Yatra’ campaigns to expand its reach to every household of Delhi. AAP Delhi Convenor and Cabinet Minister Shri Gopal Rai along with Senior Leader & MCD In-charge Shri Durgesh Pathak announced that AAP leaders will hold dialogue with the people of Delhi at 13,000 booths through the ‘Booth Samvaad’ campaign from 24th February to 10th March; and all of AAP’s top brass, MLAs and party workers will take out massive ‘MCD Badlaav Yatras’ in all 70 constituencies of Delhi on 12th & 13th March. On this occasion, Shri Gopal Rai stated — Booth Samvaad campaign will involve all old & new party members who will help chalk out a plan for throwing the BJP out of power & bringing change in MCD. Every assembly level worker, leader and MLA will be involved in taking out the MCD Badlaav Yatras all over Delhi. A 20 member committee will be formed at each booth to accomplish the ‘Booth Vijay’ initiative. AAP’s membership drive started on 5th December turned out to be a huge success; not only did old members seek renewal but about 20 lac new members joined our family. At the same time, Shri Durgesh Pathak stated — No matter where you come from, the moment you enter Delhi all you see is mountains of garbage left behind by the BJP ruled MCD. Almost 99% of Delhiites want to bring a revolutionary change in MCD; the Kejriwal Model will soon bring MCD back on track.
Cabinet Minister Shri Gopal Rai said, “The BJP has been in power for the last 15 years in the MCD. Their rule has been punctuated by all sorts of corruption, misgovernance and agony imposed on innocent residents. The Aam Aadmi Party has taken a resolve to bring a revolutionary change and provide relief to the whole of Delhi by ending the tyranny of the BJP. In this vein, we had earlier kicked off the MCD Badlaav Campaign. Under this campaign, about 20 lac new members joined the AAP. We had issued a missed-call number for this purpose along with a door-to-door.”
He added, “All of these new and old members of the Aam Aadmi Party, as well as all of those who wish to actively campaign for change in MCD, will begin the dialogue at party booths throughout Delhi’s 13,000 booths. This booth dialogue will take place from tomorrow, February 24th, to March 10th. A strategy to oust the corrupt Bharatiya Janata Party from the MCD and to form an Aam Aadmi Party government will be made at this dialogue conducted at booths across Delhi. Both old and new members of the party will be a part of these discussions. At each booth, booth committees will be formed of active members who are willing to volunteer their time until the next MCD elections. At each booth, a working committee of 20 people will be formed. If there are more active persons, they will be assigned tasks as well. The newly appointed committee members will also receive a recruitment letter at the same time.”
He stated, “A 20 member committee will be formed at each booth to accomplish the ‘Booth Vijay’ initiative. In addition, on March 12 and 13, the MCD Parivartan Yatra will be held in 70 assembly constituencies across Delhi, led by all assembly level workers, MLAs, and party officials. Through this yatra, we mark the beginning of the MCD elections process. The party has begun preparations for the upcoming elections in full swing. We have received positive response from the public, and the public’s dissatisfaction with the corrupt BJP MCD government will lead to our success through these campaigns.”
MCD in-charge Shri Durgesh Pathak said, “Since the last assembly election, the AAP has continuously exposed scam after scam in BJP’s 15 year long rule of the MCD. We took out door to door campaigns and about 2,500 mandal sabhas as well as a robust membership campaign. Under our campaign we went to the public to ask whether they want change and want to get rid of the BJP’s garbage mountains in Delhi. We all know how Delhi was once known because of Qutub Minar and Red Fort but today MCD’s landfills overshadow every monument and bring shame to Delhi.”
He added, “About 99% of the people we approached supported our endeavour. We assured them that it is them who have to fight this battle and asked if they want to take charge of our fight and support us. About 20 lac people of Delhi came forward to join us in this fight against corruption and injustice. Now all our karyakartas and office bearers will consolidate this force to initiate our ‘booth samvaad’ program. We will sit down with the locals at every booth and chalk out a comprehensive plan to not just rule out the BJP from the next elections but also seek revenge for the shamelessness with which they’ve ruled over MCD.”
