NEW DELHI:

The Kejriwal government’s Mindset curriculums — Happiness Curriculum, Entrepreneurship, Mindset Curriculum and Deshbhakti Curriculum, will now be implemented in private schools. Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Shri Manish Sisodia interacted with 1500+ private school principals and teachers to discuss the importance of mindset curriculums and the need for its implementation across all schools of Delhi, on Monday at Thyagraj stadium. While addressing the principals, the Deputy CM said that all private schools should consider including mindset curriculums in mainstream education routines. Let us all create a new-age India’s new-age society with new-age thoughts together. Along with subjects, schools must take the responsibility of every student’s mindset. We must ensure that they learn to find the solution to the biggest problems of society like corruption, pollution, poverty, unemployment, women and child safety, etc. Just as any subject cannot be taught to children by teaching only one day a week, similarly the mindset cannot be developed in children without teaching it daily. Therefore, along with commitment, private schools need to adopt the mindset curriculum scientifically.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that fixing the government schooling system has been the most important work done by the Kejriwal government in the past seven years, in the field of education. People had lost faith in the government school system, but our government worked hard to restore this faith by giving priority to education, which included implementation of these curriculum. It has helped Delhi government schools achieve excellent results not only in CBSE exams but also in competitive exams like IIT-JEE and NEET. It has made children emotionally, physically, professionally and academically sound. He said that 1700 private schools of Delhi are also doing better in the field of education, but everyone has a limit and it is a fact that quality education can be provided to each and every child of Delhi only if government and private schools work together.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that till date no work has been done on the mindset of children in the country. The education system has not taken the responsibility of developing the mindset in the children and it has always been believed that the thinking of children is developed by family and society, there is no participation of the education system in it. As a result, almost all schools today take a guarantee that their students are at a certain level in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Language, Social Science etc. but there is no guarantee about their attitude, thinking, and approach. Along with subjects, schools must take the responsibility of every student’s mindset. This will set the education revolution and create a developed nation, where every student will be emotionally, academically and professionally sound. He also said that education provided to students without development of their mindset is always incomplete.

Stating the importance of the Happiness Curriculum, Shri Sisodia said that mindfulness and meditation should be included in the everyday routine of children for 10 years, from nursery to Class 8th. If every child makes meditation an important part of his life, then it can do wonders. This has started in the Delhi Government Schools and if the private schools also adopt it, then there will be a revolution set in the whole country. Hatred that has arisen due to religion-caste-region will end. People will understand the importance of relationships. It will help children to understand themselves, explore where they stand. With the help of the Happiness Curriculum, children will work happily and they will have a solution to every problem in the future.

Speaking about the Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum (EMC) launched by the Delhi Government, Shri Sisodia said that EMC is designed in such a way that every student can apply their knowledge in real life. He said that apart from sharing the success stories of entrepreneurs, they are also given several activities to do under various units. It also includes a micro-research project. Under this, children ask questions related to their profession to 5 entrepreneurs and 5 working people so that the children can understand what are the advantages and disadvantages of which profession. Then we do live interactions with entrepreneurs in which local and renowned entrepreneurs interact with students. One of the most important components of EMC is Business Blasters.

He said that 99% of the children studying in our schools have only one dream, that they have to do a job after completing their studies and they leave the schools and colleges with the “job seeker” mindset. But if everyone thinks of taking a job, then who will give the job? As an answer to this question, we started the Business Blasters program. In which the government gave seed money of Rs 2000 each to 3 lakh children of Class 11th-12th to start their business and the children did wonders. The whole country saw how children got investment offers worth crores in Business Blasters Expo on the basis of their business ideas. We want to give this opportunity to the children of private schools too so that all the children are able to contribute towards the nation’s economy and make it a developed nation.

Sharing the importance of the Deshbhakti Curriculum, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia said that we all have the feeling of patriotism but it is reflected only on certain occasions. The feeling of patriotism should be awakened in every child and it should remain there at all times, they should see every aspect of their life with patriotism. The aim of the Deshbhakti Curriculum is to inculcate an understanding among children that how their behaviours will affect the country.
