After the massive victory of the Aam Aadmi Party in the Punjab elections, a large number of people from different states of the country are joining the Aam Aadmi Party. People from all walks of life are getting inspired by National Convenor and Delhi CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s model of governance and work-oriented politics. In this line, hundreds of people from Jammu and Kashmir joined the Aam Aadmi Party today. AAP Delhi State Convenor Shri Gopal Rai felicitated the new members of the party with caps and patka. This included former Panther Party Minister and MLA Shri Yashpal Kundal, former MLA Sr Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA candidate Shri Surinder Singh, eight BDC members and 10 councillors, and hundreds of their colleagues. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia and Senior Leader Shri Durgesh Pathak welcomed everyone to the party.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Manish Sisodia said, “A warm welcome to the people from Jammu and Kashmir, the crown of the country, to the Aam Aadmi Party. Today, many Sarpanchs, Councillors, as well as BDC members from different parts of Jammu and Kashmir are joining the Aam Aadmi Party. I wholeheartedly welcome everyone to the AAP family. Every member of our party is proud of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. We all greatly admire Maa Bharti’s crown. I have travelled a great deal through the valleys of Jammu and Kashmir during my journalism days – from Mata Vaishno Devi to the streets of Jammu, I’ve journeyed extensively. We have numerous plans for the development of various parts of the country, while working in Delhi – to write the history of progress and strengthen the country by involving the entire young generation in nation building. I am excited to sit down and discuss how we can move forward with you.”
AAP Delhi State Convenor and Cabinet Minister Shri Gopal Rai said, “Today, former MLAs from various regions of Jammu and Kashmir, as well as all Sarpanchs and office bearers from several parties, have joined the Aam Aadmi Party family. I extend a warm welcome on the behalf of AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal to all of you. A new ripple has resonated throughout the country since the formation of the AAP government in Punjab, after the progress it made in Delhi. People are constantly joining in, to be a part of this historical movement. A large number of Jammu and Kashmir residents are now joining the Aam Aadmi Party.”
He continued, “The people from Jammu and Kashmir have come to Delhi and exhibited their vision in front of the Central Government. They have called for change. The Aam Aadmi Party has worked for the people of Delhi, towards better education, employment, to ensure electricity and water supply, and to make the life of a common person more efficient. On behalf of Shri Arvind Kejriwal, I promise you all that we will strengthen the organisation together, and the progress and development made in Delhi today will also be mirrored in Jammu and Kashmir. I request the office bearers of the organisation to hold a meeting with all the responsible people joining the party and give them the responsibilities related to party building, so that they can spread the work of Aam Aadmi Party in their state and bring about a revolution similar to Delhi.”
