NEW DELHI/TELANGANA

Aam Aadmi Party MLA and Telangana in-charge Shri Somnath Bharti said that the party’s ultimate goal is to put power in the hands of the common man. CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal always says the people of the country are becoming fascinated with the AAP government’s policies and we can all see that come true today, he added. Arriving in Hyderabad for a one-day visit, he met party leaders and volunteers at the party office in the city. Earlier, leaders from various parties, celebrities from various walks of life, retired dignitaries and social activists joined the Aam Aadmi Party under Shri Somnath Bharti. They were welcomed to the party with a traditional AAP scarf. Later in the day, the poster of the Maha Padayatra, which will be held to mark Babasaheb Ambedkar’s birthday on 14th of this month, was unveiled along with the party leaders by Shri Bharti.

Shri Somnath Bharti spoke to the media on the occasion. He attributed the party’s success in Punjab to the provision of a complete public welfare regime in Delhi. He said, “People of Punjab had handed over power to Sardar Bhagwant Mann out of confidence in the Aam Aadmi Party. There has been a very good response from the people to the anti corruption action line issued immediately after the formation of the government in Punjab.” He expressed his happiness at the measures taken for the eradication of corruption and said they were yielding good results. “This is enhancing relations between the people and government employees. The philosophy of serving the people has increased among the employees. The enrollment of 3 lakh students in public schools of Delhi is a testament to the quality of education given by AAP.”

He said, “the CM Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party was getting a huge response in the states of Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat as well, where assembly elections are to be held in a few months. The BJP is shaking in fear seeing the popularity of the Aam Aadmi Party among the people. Now the whole country wants CM Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership, thanks to the revolutionary policies of the AAP government in Delhi. His fear has totally rattled the BJP in the state.”

He said, “Delhi is a debt-free state despite their government providing free education, healthcare, free electricity and water. Despite the presentation of a budget of Rs 5,000 crore in Telangana, the situation in the state does not seem optimistic. CM Shri Arvind Kejriwal also says that the people of Telangana want the AAP model of development and the unprecedented response coming from them is a sign of that. I call on the party workers to make the Aam Aadmi Party’s Maha Padayatra, which will be held on April 14 on the occasion of Ambedkar’s Jayanti, a huge success.”

Telangana AAP Search Committee chairperson Smt Indira Shobhan urged the people of Telangana to support the Aam Aadmi Party and opt for change. She said, “it is unfortunate that TRS and BJP were politicising the lives of farmers when it comes to rice procurement. The ruling parties who make the decisions are on the road themselves so who will do justice to the farmers. It has been alleged that the world-famous city of Hyderabad has been turned into a hub for drug use. Congress, BJP and TRS leaders have been accused of watering down the drug case. I pray for the success of our forthcoming Maha Padayatra on April 14 on Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Jayanti Day to purge corruption and mafia politics in Telangana.”

Smt Indira Shobhan said, “The Kejriwal model is needed in Telangana. The rally on April 14 would start with a tribute to the Ambedkar statue at Tank Bund. It will go on through 25 areas in the Greater Hyderabad area and will start from the Gagan Mahal Ambedkar statue, and will pass through Musheerabad and Secunderabad.”
