Kejriwal Government does not make the children sit in cobweb-filled decaying schools like in Gujarat, we work on maintaining minimum benchmarks for every school: Manish Sisodia

NEW DELHI/GUJARAT:

Describing the state of government schools in Gujarat, which is BJP’s so-called ‘model state’, AAP Senior Leader and Delhi Deputy CM Shri Manish Sisodia stated – The conditions of government schools in Gujarat education minister’s home constituency of Bhavnagar is deplorable. It’s almost like opening the door to a scrap shop and asking the students to go and study there. The walls are filled with cobwebs, there is no cleanliness, no toilets, no basic facilities in these schools.

Shri Manish Sisodia said, “Even after 75 years of independence, in which BJP ruled the state for the last 27 years, the ground reality of government schools in the state is abysmal. While there might be a possibility that all schools in Gujarat are not in this state, having even a single school in our country like the ones I visited in Bhavnagar does not bode well for the future of India.”

Since his visit to Gujarat on Monday, Shri Manish Sisodia has been receiving a lot of photos from various parts of Gujarat that show the substandard level of government schools in the state. He said that he has come to know of many schools in recent days where the work on education and infrastructure is just on paper.

He further brought attention to the complete makeover of Delhi’s government schools since the Aam Party formed its government in the state. He said, “In the last 5-7 years, the Aam Aadmi Party has ensured that Delhi’s schools become world class institutions. Not just that, the Delhi government has also made sure that no school in Delhi falls below the minimum benchmark for basic infrastructural facilities. That’s why there is not even a single school in Delhi today where students are forced to sit without basic facilities like toilets, cleanliness, drinking water and desks. I have written a letter to the Gujarat CM and his education minister to invite them for a visit to the schools of Delhi and learn about the Kejriwal government’s work in the government schools.”

Attacking the BJP for its disinterest in improving the government schools of Gujarat, he stated, “If the BJP is not interested in upgrading the level of the government schools in the state, then it must keep in mind that the people of Gujarat have made up their minds and they too now have the option to vote for AAP to completely transform the government schools in just five years.”

Earlier this week, AAP Senior Leader Shri Manish Sisodia visited some schools in Bhavnagar, the constituency of Gujarat education minister Jitu Vaghani, and exposed the reality of the ‘Gujarat model’ in front of the entire nation.
