The Aam Aadmi Party made an explosive revelation in regard to the Jahangirpuri violence, today. The party cornered the BJP on all fronts with senior leaders MLA Ms Atishi, MLA Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh exposing BJP’s deep ties with the main accused of the Jahangirpuri Riots. Ms Atishi said that the main accused of the Jahangirpuri riots, Ansar, is a BJP leader who played a major role in the election of BJP’s councillor candidate Sangeeta Bajaj. She asserted that it is now clear that the BJP is behind the riots and asked the BJP to apologise to Delhiites and accept that it is a party of goons and miscreants. At the same time, AAP Chief Spokesperson Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj exposed BJP’s links with Ansar and presented photos of Ansar campaigning for BJP several times. He stated, “BJP propagated a violent mob in seven states just to win elections by dividing the society. He said that people voted for BJP in the name of development, education-healthcare, employment but they only want to fuel riots all over.
AAP Chief Spokesperson and MLA Shri Saurabh Bhardwaj said, “On 16th April, the entire country celebrated Hanuman Janamotsav, and the BJP has been driving a single narrative since that day regarding the Jahangirpuri riots – that the mastermind behind these riots is a man who goes by the name ‘Ansar’. They have been further circulating an image of this alleged Ansar, in which the man can be spotted wearing several garlands and donning an Aam Aadmi Party cap. Using this image as a prop, the BJP is hell bent on trying to associate the mastermind behind the riots to the Aam Aadmi Party, falsely putting the blame on AAP for inciting these riots. I have with me other photos of this alleged mastermind Ansar, in which he can be clearly seen wearing a saffron bearing the BJP symbol.
He added, “Whenever a crime is investigated by any police force in the world, be it in Delhi or in a foreign country, the first step of any investigative agency is to first probe the individuals or the community which benefit the most from the outcome of the crime. They identify the prime beneficiary of any murder, robbery, and begin their search there. We have been reiterating this issue for several years now, and I have repeated this every single day since the 16th of April – that these communal riots did not simply take place in Delhi; but starting from 10th April, the day of Ram Navami, all the way till 16th, the day of Hanuman Jayanti, they were orchestrated in 7 states across the country. This included the states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, as well as Kerala. It is important to hence know who is benefitting from this pre-planned violence and upheaval, to know which political party is sitting with the script to recite on news channels in order to take advantage of the communal divide the moment a riot breaks out. They already have long WhatsApp messages framed in advance – to incite a riot and forward a particular message to go along to control the narrative, to tie it up with votebanks. The political party in question here is quite obviously none other than the Bharatiya Janata Party. Every single riot has directly profited this party of goons and hatemongers – the BJP leaders, Union ministers, national and state presidents, MPs, MLAs, all of whom have been busy using these harrowing riots for their political gain in one way or another.”
He further said, “There is enough evidence to support our allegation that the BJP has orchestrated these riots for its own political gain. If we look at the factors behind these riots – how the Jahangirpuri incident occurred in the first place, we find that the people who were part of the mob were no regular Hanuman devotees who lead Shobha Yatras. Instead, they were young goons armed with swords, knives, and unlicensed guns, and no police permission to take out a procession to begin with. On the other side, at the masjid as well, goons yet again carrying firearms and swords were present. So, these hooligans from two separate religions collected in the same place, and were found waving their firearms and swords in front of the police, inciting violence. Why, then, did the Delhi Police not immediately register a case against these miscreants? If any regular person walks about on the streets waving a sword or a gun, a police officer will arrest you with a blink of an eye, possibly earn you a life sentence, as it is a non-bailable cognizable offence. If any common person is caught red handed like this bearing arms, a case on charges of criminal conspiracy, attempted murder, and common intention is applicable, and one does not get bail for at least three months. Any lawyer or policeman can attest to this procedure. However, in this case, the goons are openly seen walking around with swords drawn, bearing guns and other ammunition, and the police are simply watching from the sidelines.”
He continued, “Why did the police not arrest a single one of them, whether they were Hindu or Muslim? Because it was carefully planned, and written in the script drafted by the BJP Headquarters, in which the roles of the Police SHO and DCP were already assigned. And the low grade police officers are made scapegoats in the scenario, without even informing or warning them against a future flare up. Hence, the police were clearly instructed by the BJP in advance to observe, to not intervene at any cost, and to let the riot go on. The police officers were also clearly told to produce the alleged mastermind ‘Ansar’ once the riots are over, link him to the Aam Aadmi Party, or another perpetrator to another party, and that the BJP had no role to play in the violence that played out. Today, like every single time, the BJP’s pathetic script and orchestrated violence is exposed to the public with photographic evidence, bringing to light BJP’s tainted and lowly antics and their true face for the entire nation to see.”
He concluded, “I believe that if the BJP leaders had even an ounce of shame they’d leave politics after peddling such lies. Violent mobs are nothing short of crazy. No one knows who the target of their bullet is. Not the BJP, not the Delhi Police Commissioner and not even that mob itself. They can attack even an innocent passerby. The manner in which the BJP is protecting this violent mob and its mobilisers, it is clear that BJP is scripting a day of doom. This mobocracy and violence has been orchestrated by the BJP in seven states only to win an election. This is a matter of shame for everyone in active politics that such people exist who promote violence, hinder police procedures and give safe havens to criminals.”
Senior Leader and MLA Ms Atishi said, “Today the truth has come in front of the whole country. BJP’s true face has been exposed and we now know who committed violence on the day of Hanuman Jayanti. The main accused in these riots is a man called Ansar. He has been arrested by the Delhi Police. This man, Ansar, is the functionary of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Ansar played an important role in BJP’s 2017 councillor candidate Sangeeta Bajaj’s elections. Ansar has consistently been playing an active role in the Bharatiya Janata Party and has promoted the Bharatiya Janata Party with all his might. He can also be seen standing on the stage with BJP leaders. This is proof that the person who instigated the riots in Jahangirpuri was a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Today it has come to the fore that Bharatiya Janata Party is a party of goons. Bharatiya Janata Party is a party of the Lafangas. Just a few days back we saw how BJP Delhi Chief Adesh Gupta called and garlanded the 8 accused who had attacked the Chief Minister’s residence at his office. Adesh Gupta gave a message to the BJP workers across the country that the more riots, the more hooliganism, the more they will progress inside the ranks of BJP. The BJP must apologise to the people of Delhi and the people of the entire country for the riots they have caused in Jahangirpuri.”
At the same time, MLA Ms Atishi tweeted, “The main accused in the Jahangirpuri riots – Ansar – is a BJP leader. He played a major role in BJP candidate Sangeeta Bajaj’s election and plays an active role in the BJP. It is clear that the BJP got the riots done. BJP should apologise to Delhiites. BJP is a party of goons”
Senior Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri Sanjay Singh said, “Rioters are rioters, nothing more than violence instigators. Strict action should be taken against them regardless of their religion or caste. There have been 3,400 riots in the last four years under the Modi Government, as shared by a Union Minister in the Parliament itself. People voted for the BJP for development, for reduction in inflation, elimination of illiteracy, for building schools and hospitals, for creating jobs, and increasing farmers’ income, but instead they are causing riots and instilling communal disharmony. The BJP has spread hatred throughout the country, organised riots, provided protection to goons, and honoured and celebrated criminals. I’d like to ask the BJP what ideal of Lord Shri Ram it is that they are fulfilling with swords, katta, and tamancha in Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti processions. Is this the lesson that Lord Shri Ram has taught us? What does the Hindu religion have to say about this? With the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, the BJP has shrunk the Hindu religion. The residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was attacked, and the perpetrators were felicitated with garlands at the BJP office. Riots benefit only the BJP, which is actively working to disrupt the country’s peace and tranquillity. The BJP is a gangster and criminal party, which actively supports and promotes hate mongering.”
