The Aam Aadmi Party is leaving no stone unturned in its bid for the Rajinder Nagar by-polls. The incumbent party of Delhi has now brought out its stalwarts in support of MLA candidate Shri Durgesh Pathak. In this vein today, AAP Delhi State Convenor and Delhi Cabinet Minister Shri Gopal Rai held a Jansabha at Valmiki Temple in Naraina. Massive crowds gathered for AAP’s Jansabha in Rajinder Nagar today. Locals were overwhelmed by the Kejriwal Government’s work that could be seen in relentless sloganeering in AAP’s favour. On this occasion, Shri Gopal Rai stated, “After independence, both BJP-Congress saw their time in power in Delhi, but we are proud that the people of Delhi chose CM Arvind Kejriwal who has committed his day and night for the people of the state. AAP Delhi State Convenor and Cabinet Minister Shri Gopal Rai said, “From Old Rajinder Nagar to Naraina Village, Buddh Nagar to Naraina Vihar, Congress is facing an identity crisis. They are fighting a battle of survival as they don’t have any existence there. People from BJP were making big claims for the past two months but when the time came to file the nomination, they saw the might of AAP. Candidates of both the parties went to file the nomination together and the crowd of people supporting them were no match to ours. They were astonished to see such a huge footfall and they realised that they are going to lose the elections with a huge margin.”
He added, “BJP leaders have no clue about what to do next in the elections. Sometimes they’re saying that Astrani will be the kingmaker in the elections, sometimes they’re using Lord Shri Ram’s name to ask people to vote for them. They claim that it was them who brought Lord Shri Ram to the country. Is it even possible for humans to bring God? They claim that it was them who brought Valmiki to the country. Is it them who brought Valmikiji or it is Valmikiji who showers his blessings on us? They are using God’s name for personal gains of getting advantage in the elections. Hunger for power has turned them blind. But that trick did not work. Now they’re playing every trick in the book, be it caste, religion, language. They’re making different promises to entice different communities. The country belongs to everyone and we’re proud of the fact that while you could not rise above pity politics, we remain committed to the welfare of the people. People of Delhi brought BJP and then Congress to power but I am proud of the fact and so are the residents of Rajinder Nagar that we have chosen a visionary and honest CM who works day and night to serve the people.”
He continued, “We are contesting the elections with a single purpose on hand i.e. to continue our pursuit of development, something which we have been doing for several years now. If an MLA who belongs to the ruling party is chosen, the government gets further strengthened and the MLA works with zeal and support of the party to bring progress in the area. That’s why people should vote for Shri Arvind Kejriwal’s MLA. We believe in walking the talk. Whether it is Naraina Village or Inderpuri, Buddh Nagar, BJP leaders are not interested in working for the party, let alone the people in either of the three wards.They’re enjoying uninterrupted electricity and water supply free of cost and it has been made possible because of the efforts of AAP. Women can travel safely and free of cost, government schools have been transformed and Mohalla clinics have also been established. Now, we have set our sights on Rajinder Nagar to resolve all the pending issues. So, it is an appeal on behalf of Shri Arvind Kejriwal that if you want development in your area, vote for AAP on 23rd June.”
He added, “You gave your blessings to Shri Raghav Chadha by electing him as your MLA in the Legislative Assembly. We have some unfinished business after he left for Rajya Sabha. People have complained about shortage of water in multiple areas. There is an issue of drainage of sewage water and a few other issues as well. The plans and schemes ready to fix them were already during the time when Shri Raghav Chadha was your MLA. I want to assure you and I request you to spread this message that an unprecedented development will be brought in the area.”
He continued, “It is my appeal that the time has come that we have to take this as our cause to ensure AAP’s victory. Entire Delhi’s and country’s eyes are on Rajinder Nagar. Last time, you made us win on Rajinder Nagar Constituency when regular elections on all the 70 seats took place. Now we’re having by-elections. You have to spread the message that if the Aam Aadmi Party has historic work and set a record, they should be rewarded with a victory by record margin in Rajinder Nagar constituency. A Chief Minister who has a habit of setting historic records is aiming to set another history. It is our duty.”
He added, “I believe that BJP draws strength from money while AAP draws strength from passion. History itself is filled with instances where in a battle of money and passion, it is the passion which has emerged victorious. A lot of people told me that if BJP would have fielded R P Singh then there would have been some competition. When Rajesh Bhatia was Ward Councillor from Old Rajinder Nagar, he never left his home to serve the people and when he was not given a ticket from BJP, even then he did not mend his ways to interact with people to understand their issues. If we give him a chance to contest elections from AAP, even then he will find it hard to win the elections.”
He concluded, “If you want progress in your area, then you have to bring AAP under the leadership of Shri Arvind Kejriwal. Whatever issues are remaining, we will create history by resolving all of them. That’s why you have to vote for AAP on 23rd June by pressing the button against the symbol of Jhaadu. Your vote will empower us and the Kejriwal Government will bring progress with an even faster rate. Shri Durgesh Pathak will fulfill all the promises under the leadership of Shri Arvind Kejriwal. The more votes we will get on 23rd June, the more empowered we will feel to start developmental work immediately from 26th June.”
