IPL 2022 Mega Auction : Preparation for IPL 2022 is going on. Retention list of eight teams has been released, while two new teams are now talking to them to include three players in their team. Two new teams, Lucknow and Ahmedabad are also entering this time. A total of six players out of the soon-to-be-released players will be bought before the auction. Along with this, players and cricket fans are also waiting for Mega Auction 2022. It is believed that the mega auction will be organized in the second week of January. Meanwhile, there are also reports that this will be the last mega auction of the IPL. The management of some teams has expressed displeasure about this.

The first season of IPL was played in the year 2008, since then the auction takes place every year, but according to the rules, there is also a mega auction after every three years. In the mini auction, work goes, but in the mega auction, except a few players, all the other players have to leave the teams. Many teams have to leave their good and match winning players even without wanting to. This whole process is called retention. After this, when the stage of the mega auction is decorated, the teams have to buy the same players again. Sometimes they are overpriced and teams either have to buy them at expensive prices or have to leave. This shatters the whole team. The same thing is not pleasing to the teams. Teams think that they give all facilities to the players they prepare, but when they are ready they move to some other team, it hurts them.

According to a report by Inside Sports, KKR chief executive Venky Mysore says that the IPL has been around for more than a decade, so the mega auction has lost its usefulness. He says that IPL franchises who have invested in scouting and academies for the development of players should be rewarded. KKR has also set up an academy. The big thing is that since the year 2018 till now, six uncapped players have played for Team India. On the other hand, Parth Jindal, one of the owners of Delhi Capitals said that this time we have to leave many big and good players. He says that the policy of IPL is such that we cannot retain more players than a certain limit. It is not right that you make a team, give chances to youngsters and when they are ready you lose them.Well, it has to be seen whether the BCCI keeps in mind what the IPL franchises are pointing towards. If his words are accepted, then there may not be a mega auction of IPL in future. In such a situation, it is possible that every year or two years there may be a mini auction and some players may be swapped in it.
