The Aam Aadmi Party has exposed another instance of BJP’s daylight robbery. AAP Senior Leader and MCD In-charge Shri Durgesh Pathak informed that the BJP ruled MCD gave away its land to the husband of a BJP Councillor itself. He stated — BJP-ruled MCD is giving land to its own leaders by using NGOs as a facade. North MCD documents have revealed that BJP Councillor Manju Khandelwal herself recommended giving land to the NGO owned by her husband. It can not be possible that MCD’s Assistant Commissioner took such a big step of giving land to a BJP leader without the knowledge of the BJP President. This is a clear case of criminal conspiracy; BJP must be prosecuted for cheating the people of Delhi.
Shri Durgesh Pathak said, “If one goes around Delhi, they’d realise the amount of affection people have for the Kejriwal Government. They’d see how people in every ward want the AAP to win so they can transform the MCD as well. This time around, even the BJP has realised that the people of Delhi will vote them out in the next elections. They seem very frustrated. Their angst is visible in their haphazard ways of handling the civic bodies. It seems like the BJP is functioning like a nexus of mafias which wants to commit corruption and take over public assets. They are hatching a huge conspiracy to hand over all MCD lands to BJP leaders. In the last 6-7 months BJP ruled MCD brought proposals to sell off Chandni Chowk’s Gandhi Maidan Parking, Pitampura’s Shiva Market Parking, Qutab Road Parking, Novelty Cinema Land, Naniwala Bagh, Moti Nagar Shopping Complex, Delight Cinema Land, 132 plots in Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, 5 parking and shopping complexes in Karol Bagh, a school in Shalimar Bagh, a coaching centre, a health centre, RBTB Hospital parking among others. They’ve been doing all of this despite knowing that the Delhi Government needs land to build schools and Mohalla Clinics. They refuse to give us land so that we can open more schools, but will happily sell schools to earn profits.”
He added, “Anyone who gets to know about a proposal to sell the land under the crooked BJP model will immediately understand there’s something wrong in the system. According to the BJP model of selling land — they give away these lands to a non-governmental organisation for care and upkeep for say 50-100 years. All these NGOs who practically get these lands forever are run by BJP leaders itself. They have devised a scheme to loot the MCD of its lands by transferring ownership to these NGOs of theirs.”
Shri Pathak further went on to show documents related to one such deal and said, “AAP is in possession of a letter that clearly states that the North MCD Assistant Commissioner gave a land parcel in Ashok Vihar’s Keshavpuram zone to an NGO owned by one Rajendra Kumar. The NGO’s name is ‘Panchvati Social Welfare Society.’ The most important fact is that this ward’s councillor is Manju Khandelwal of the BJP. And shockingly, Rajendra Kumar, the one who received this land, is his husband. They first established an NGO in the name of a BJP leader. Then this land was given to that NGO on the recommendation of the BJP’s councillor. The councillor, who is the wife of the NGO owner, has written that this land should be given to the NGO. They’ll look after it. They will see whether to build an entertainment park or something else on that land. While stealing, the thieves should also use their brain. But when you become very corrupt, when greed takes over, you make these mistakes, such as the councillor herself giving land to her husband’s NGO in writing. I don’t believe such smugness could have been used to commit corruption anywhere else. Today, the lands of Delhi are being besieged in this manner. BJP leaders are working overtime to transfer historical lands in their name. This is a criminal activity and action should be taken against these people.”
He added, “Their way of working demonstrates a pattern. We obtained proof for one location, but all of the other lands mentioned thus far are also being given to some NGO or the other. The BJP’s top leadership appears to have devised this comprehensive strategy for looting Delhi. BJP’s top leadership and Adesh Gupta may also be involved in this or else all this may be happening at their behest. They will undoubtedly be aware of it. It cannot be that the Assistant Commissioner of MCD made such a major decision and gave land to the husband of a BJP councillor while the BJP President was unaware. This conspiracy appears to involve the entire top leadership of the BJP, in my opinion. They have clearly given directions that there are only 2-3 months left now; during this time, take over as much land as you can; do corruption as shamelessly as possible. And this document bears witness to that. This demonstrates that the BJP is completely demoralised and destroyed from within. People of Delhi will retaliate in the upcoming elections. Delhiites will take revenge in the upcoming elections and throw the BJP out of power.”
