Social Welfare Minister Shri Rajendra Pal Gautam celebrated the birth anniversaries of Sant Shiromani Shri Guru Ravidas Ji and Sant Shri Gadgey Maharaj Ji at his residence today. Along with this, he will also unveil grand statues of Lord Buddha, Sant Shiromani Shri Guru Ravidas Ji, Sant Gadge Maharaj Ji, Jyotiba Rao Phule Ji and Sant Kabir Das Ji. Several prominent social workers paid their respects to Sant Guru Ravidas Ji, Sant Gadge Maharaj Ji at the event today.

Shri Rajendra Pal Gautam kicked off the program by reciting a couplet of Sant Guru Ravidas ji. He said, “Sant Ravidas ji had a dream that every person irrespective of caste should have the right to lead a dignified life. Both rich and poor should get equal opportunities.” He talked about how CM Arvind Kejriwal’s government in Delhi is fulfilling this dream of Sant Ravidas ji through world class education. “Now the children of both rich and poor in Delhi are getting excellent education in Delhi government schools,” he said.

Along with this, he also raised his voice against caste oppression and said, “As long as there is caste, there will be oppression. Because of caste, crores of people of the country have suffered oppression for thousands of years. They have been deprived of education, business and property. But Babasaheb Ambedkar freed us from these thousands of years of oppression. He gave us equal rights in the constitution of India. Now it is our duty to make an India where there is no caste based oppression. It is only then our country will progress, become strong, and will be called the golden bird again.”
